We're going to be in Manchester the last weekend in April. We'd really like to see Blackburn v Plymouth on the Sunday. Will we have any trouble getting general sale tickets? We will have a car, so is the best thing to drive to the game? Or, would train + bus be better?

Of course, I meant the Wigan match. It's been a long day already.

you could get the train from victoria station which will be direct to blackburn. ewood park is 20-25 minutes walk from there or there are buses which go past the ground. you will have no trouble getting tickets on the day. i would not be able to direct you from the city centre by car as i have never been that route.

If you are coming by car from Manchester, depending on where you are staying, you need to follow M60 motorway, towards Bolton, then follow M61, towards Preston, after junction 8 M61, you will need to follow M65 towards Blackburn, turn off at junction 4 for Darwen, go round the roundabout and take the fourth exit, there will be signs directing you towards Ewood Park, take the right hand lane at the traffic lights, as soon as you turn right, there is a school on the left called Darwen Vale, this is the best place to park.

From the school, walk to your left towards Ewood Park, down the hill and along to the ground, the home fans ticket office is at the Blackburn End, at the opposite end, you will approach the ground from the Darwen End, which is for the Wigan fans. This walk is about 15 minutes.

If you are staying at the Airport or coming from the Airport, you need to follow M56 towards Bolton, then M60, M61 etc.

Yeah that's the best place to park if you don't know the area, the only slight srawback is the walk back up the hill after the game. It's quick access (once you're out of the car park) back onto the M65 after too.

When you walk out of the school on the way to Ewood there's a decent pub on your left, just after the bridge. You get a good mix of home and away fans in there, friendly atmosphere.

    The Golden Cup :)

I know dozens of good parking places, depends on how well you know the area and how soon you get there. I've lived in Blackburn all my life.
