Re: Villyan Bijev at Liverpool FC?

Looks like the game he played in was an exhibition becasue FCV Dender is in the Belgian second division. He will probably be with Genks B-kern. It looks like that is what they call their reserves or B-team.

This is a link to their B-kern page. It is 2010-2011 list, but it says the 2011-2012 will be up soon. In a few days he might be listed.

Good to see him providing a nice spark off the (locker room) bench.

So 90 minutes and a goal in his reserve team debut? Not bad.

I doubt that their B-Team plays in the Belgian 2nd division so who knows who he played with in that one but its good to see that he's playing and scoring.

I found a Villyan Bijev thread on a Racing Genk fan website. Could a Flemish/Dutch speaking poster possibly give us a translation of this comment?

Teh Googles did a fairly good job, I guess.

"Did a pretty good impression at training today. Solid and pure inspeelpas, technically strong, fast and (despite his slight build) firmly in the duels. Downside seemed a good condition and his positional play (although I noticed in the last matches of three against three and is therefore not a true measure of value mss)."

He still doesn't appear on the Genk roster (Though the u21 team hasn't been updated since last season). This article from a few days ago says that Bijev looks good in training and negotiations between Liverpool and Genk are progressing well.

Re: Villyan Bijev at Racing Genk

Obviously, Genk will want the Champions League group stage money and prestige, but from Bijev's standpoint the result of the Genk-Haifa tie isn't all that important. If they lose, they'll head to the Europa League group stage where they'll have the same number of matches, with a greater chance of advancing.
