The game after this is our first CL tie. We need everyone healthy for it.

Yup, would like to see (starting 11 not formation):

    Morata Benzema Jese
    Di Maria Illarra Casemiro/Khedira
    Nacho/Coentrao Ramos Pepe Carvajal
    Lopez/Casillas

I'm a little uncomfortable offensively without Ronaldo Isco Modric and Marcelo.

Well they are all either injured or 50/50, would rather not risk them against Villarreal

True, but we should still try it out in one of our home games and if things get ugly just make 2 subs at half time and get it done. I think playing without the big guns could do wonders for our bench boys.

I haven't watched any of Spain's U-21 these last few days but our boys seem to be impressing. Would love to see Morata and Jese start if our regulars aren't up for it (ie chance of aggravating their injuries further). They have some momentum, time for them to shine in RM kits. Keep the big guns on the bench just in case we need some late magic.

Ancelotti does like to field as many attacking players as possible. I'm wondering if he will do this...

    ------------Casemiro-------------
    --- Di Maria---------Modric----
    --Jese------------------Ronaldo-
    -------------Benzema-----------

Villarreal would totally own us with their counter attacks if we'll be seeing that formation.

Didn't he play Isco-Modric-Di Maria in midfield for the away match at Granada? It's possible Di maria could come in to play in midfield. I agree with you to some extent although Di Maria is pretty decent defensively. Would be nice to see Jese start a match before Bale comes in and never ever gets to play again lol

I'd replace Di Maria with Khedira.

    It's pretty simple:

If we play as good as we can, we'll win comfortably.
If we play as good as we have lately, we'll struggle and hopefully grab a 0:1 out of it or something.

We need Casillas to play a game or two, so we can have 2 match ready GKs to pick from against Juve/Galatasaray.

Yep, I am not impressed by how much we're struggling against these lightweight teams. But we have to remember it's a new team still trying to get adjusted to a new manager and play style. These things take time, although we're notorious for having little patience with coaches and players.

Just throw Bale in there and see how the team does with him there and no Ronaldo

It'll be played on my birthday as well! Hope to have a nice present that morning. Good luck guys! Might or might not be able to watch it, depending if there's sports TV in the hotel I'm staying..

Real haven't hit top form. It could be because of several reasons. Mainly because of player power and prevailing. This has got to change before anything gets out of hand. All the players have to be under to control of the manager itself. Or it won't work.

    DoH.

What? It could be because of its not possible in such early stage of the season and not necessary? Its called optimal form planing ( training program through the year ) and probably Ancelotti wants to hit optimal form next year for La decima.
