Yeah, awful red. Yellow it was deserved but ref? He fouled Breno before he hit back as well but the ref obviously didn't see that.. like the clip on Gomez 1st half as well.
The red card was deserved in my eyes because it was not a soccer move. It was a "Taetlichkeit" intend. He may not have connected but he wanted to. Retaliatory stuff will always/usually draw a stiffer penalty. Deserves a red just for being stupid enough to lose his nerves.
There would be about 2 reds per game if such fouls were truly considered reds when they don't connect.
It was retaliatory in the way someone would retaliate by being on the verge of choking someone and then stop just before they touch him. It was stupid, but not that stupid. He was clearly frustrated because the guy was hacking him from behind, not to mention that the entire team was shitting its pants with frustration at that moment in the game. Breno barely touched the dude and the dude jumped up and took a nose dive to the ground.
The refs also have to follow a certain guide line that has been assigned to them. I have seen all the BuLi "Tätlichkeit"-reds this season and believe me, players have flown from the pitch even for less. So to me it was clearly a straight red card, no doubt at all.

Anyone have the highlights of the match? Preferably one with the player's emotions after the game. From what I've seen Muller & Gomez looked like they wanted to kill themselves.
When the final whistle came I immediately turned the tv off. I haven't watched the highlights and won't either, it's just too painful. Same with the CL final of last season, I watched the highlights of that match for the first time only a month ago or so, before the 1st leg against Inter. Best to just try forget it...

As for Schweini and that being in his ipod, maybe he should turn it off because he's attempting that too much and doing silly mistakes which result into goals.. something that I hardly ever see with Xavi.
