On the other hand IIRC a recent quote from him goes "If Barca would go for me I would have to tell them to wait" and "There is nothing better than playing for VfB at the moment". When his contract ends in 2011 he will be 25. He can join Barca then.

Sure he might also do that, who knows?
All that can be said is he will be playing for Stuttgart during the next sessions.

Anyone know where and when tickets are usually sold for friendly matches?
I'm going to be in Stuttgart from 10 July to 22 July and would like to catch the game against TSG Hoffenheim in Heilbronn. Thanks everyone in advance.:)

According to Hoffenheim's homepage tickets can be booked next week and they will list the offices.

Only problem is, it's rare for these friendly matches against small clubs to have the tickets sold online. I expect you could only buy them at stores in Stuttgart, but hopefully for VfBOmaha's sake i'm wrong, and i may well be.

    Hello,

    [/QUOTE]
First of all - There is much more money around, than there are really good players who are worth the money. That makes strikers (like Gomez) very expansive. Even the English middleclass clubs are competing for the rare good players. So we have to get used to prizes, that are far beyond our imaginations!
    Ewerthon:
He's fast and and he definetly has technical skills. He will get our offense to a better level, because he is much better than Streller or Lauth. Hopefully he will have the quality to go even for a starting spot.
We also need a 4th striker, because our homegrown Manuel Fischer is not ready to compete in the Bundesliga. He needs this year in the 2nd team and maybe he will get some playtime in the BL later in the season.

    Ciao Hans

thanks for all the responses guys! my grandfather just went to Stuttgart yesterday, so he should be able to go and buy a couple tickets if they are on sale in Stuttgart. I also have some family pretty close to Heilbronn who may be able to buy tickets in Heilbronn or Hoffenheim. I'll just be on the lookout for the announcement.

also...thanks for the invite to a beer barFly. I'd be happy to have a beer with a VfB fan anyday.

When Pardo arrived Mexican opinion seemed more like
"he's only there to help Osorio adapt" or "he'll never make it in Germany". :D
Quess you only appreciate what you lost (or the Chivas fans are more vocal).

Anyway today it's more on us to watch how good Mexico does. :)

We sent them home losers once again. Too bad all their fans didn't go back with the team.

Osorio got injured in the Gold Cup Final . Its still unkown how bad his injury was. He flew to Mexico City right away to get treatment and get a medical evaluation.

    That's bad news :(

I watched the game yesterday, it's true that Pardo doesn't play nearly as good for the NT as he does for us. He was still alright though. Osorio was pretty average, but made no notable errors.

Either way i'm sorry for the loss, maybe you'll have better luck in the Copa America. :)

Yesterday, the Stuttgarter Nachrichten reported that Stuttgat is supposedly interested in Belgian Kevin Mirallas (19/OSC Lille). He seems to be a very talented striker who is said to be the next big thing out of Belgium. At this point, he's still only a talent, but that's probably exactly what our club officials are looking for in our potential 4th striker.

So it also seems that Alfonso and Gomis are finally ruled out for being too expensive.

Anyways, I'm expecting to see the new strikers this week already, as preparations start on friday. This saturday, the team will go on a one week training camp and I'd suspect that the new players will all be there. As of now, everythig still points on Ewerthon. And Mirallas might just be the other new striker.
