This would be a great opportunity for Ventura. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

BTW, how cool would it be if CA signed Omar Gonzalez and paired him with Alvarado?

    Dare to dream.

If Omar leaves the Galaxy, I'd want him in Europe, not Liga MX. Who knows, if he didn't tear his ACL during his loan spell, he'd probably be starting at Nürnberg right now.

Ok, hearing that Alvarado did travel with the first team for the Super Clasico, but will play with the U20s tomorrow. Barring a last minute change, his first Liga MX start will have to wait.

America does like him, however. He'll just have to be patient. Also would have been nice for him to be eligible for the U20 World Cup this summer, but he just missed the cutoff.

Is he on loan at Necaxa or was he transferred there?

Sounds like a loan (not Google Translate's finest work):

"What players in the America? It Jaciel, may Ventura, Alvarado, Rodriguez, Elohe Solorzano, there are several interesting players who already know the division and have experienced players who worked with me in the Under-20 and were pentacampeones, I know them very well, that in spite being so young have 40-50 international games played Copa Libertadores.

I have all the support of America and I will support with some players that I know and you need to be rescuing Leaguers Ascent and first. How many American to Zacatepec. They are about seven to eight players is a good base."

"Youngsters such as Ventura Alvarado and Jorge Urias might be loaned out to secure first-team minutes before coming back to the Mexico City giants."

Ventura Alvarado is currently making his Necaxa debut in a Copa MX match at home against Chivas. The second half is just starting on Univision Deportes. The game is tied a 0.

During the 2013 Clausura, Ventura Alavardo made 11 starts for the Club América U-20s, one 4 minute substitute appearance for the first team in the Liga MX, and logged 390 minutes in the Copa MX (6 games, 4 starts) scoring 1 goal.

Started all 3 games so far of the Ascenso Clausura, and Necaxa has won all 3.

Necaxa will need to win the Clausura playoffs to have a chance to play in the promotion playoffs. They lost to Leones in the Apertura finals.

At age 21, Alvarado has been a regular starter for Necaxa this season, which really isn't bad at all. They finished third in the second tier and are playing their first playoff game right now. The score 1-1 near halftime, and Necaxa's goal was scored from a header by, you guessed it, Ventura Alvarado.

    Sonny Guadarrama started too.

Alvarado was back on the field for the second leg, and Necaxa won 4-1 to advance 6-3 on aggregate. Next up is Tecos in the semis.

Sonny Guadarrama (who also went 90) scored the decisive goal on a header in the 73rd minute. After that, it remained close until stoppage time when Necaxa added a couple of insurance goals.
