Re: Varzim [R] hopefully Varzim will take up that Hong Kong tycoon up on his offer of buying the club...he is the owner of Casino da Povoa and has a special affinity for the city due to his son (unfortunately) dying there...said he wanted to buy the club about 4 years ago when I was in Portugal...we need him badly, 17th is abysmal for a club who was in contention for promotion last year. Gil Vicente-Varzim, 2-2 Varzim took the lead on a successful counter-attack scored by Emmanuel at minute 21. The Gilistas took control of the game and scored two in the second half, but Denilson was able to bring the one point home when he scored late in the 2nd half.
Varzim-Santa Clara, 1-3 Varzim went ahead on a goal by Dennilson. Had two ball hit the woodwork, but wasn't able to hang on to the lead. In the 2nd half Santa Clara was in control and Basilio was inspired , as he scored twice.
Varzim 0-1 Feirense. 0-1 at half time. Sixth game without the taste of victory. Now the Poveiros slide down to the 9th place.
Make that the seventh game. Free fall for Varzim. Estoril-Varzim, 2-1 . 0-1 at the half-time. A fair result over all. The team needs some soul searching.
