Silva is more of a wing-forward who can drop deep because he's smart enough to and who can play centrally but if you make a list of midfielders including Xavi, Martinez, Toure, etc he doesn't belong.

Donkey Khedira has been Germany's best player for a year now and arguably Madrid's most consistent player this season.

Top 10 midfielders in the world is interesting right now but to respect the thread, it's not the best place to have this discussion.

I think he was talking about best Spanish midfielders.

Plus he's not worth having a serious discussion with when it comes to footballing matters.

Xabi Alonso is one of the decades best midfielders, you think Javi and Granero are better than him? I dont agree with many players on your list and you are definitely selling our players short.

Why is a bench player of the number 20 of the Premier League in your list ? I'm a fan of Granero but he is average.

Xabi is done. I said this at the beginning of the season and most of you refused to see what was obvious. Now you guys are finally coming around.

I also remember when all of you wanted to buy Maicon. LOL. There was only one other poster besides me who realized he was washed out.

Have you heard about a man with a red beard called Alonso? Did you just start watching football?

Did you stop watching football before the end of last season?

Anyway, going to catch some Roma-Inter before this match starts.

Hopefully our midfield won't get dominated by Valencia's during the first half again.

See, people like yourself who only rate defensive midfielders based on goals and assists would never understand the value of a player like Xabi

Alonso is done? is that so? name me ONE Madrid player who is playing better this season compared to last season? Yeah, I thought so..

Not really. I rated him really highly when he was Liverpool and was 100% behind buying him. Unfortunately most people fail to see when players clearly decline as both Alonso and Xavi have although Xavi is still pretty good and at least Barcelona understand they need to limit his minutes in order for him to remain effective. You probably are one of the posters that thinks Kaka deserves more chances just because 5 years ago he won an undeserved WPOTY. LOL.

I don't rate him cause he's a DM that is terrible at defense.

As for your second sentence, one of the reasons why all our players look worse is precisely cause our most influential player, Alonso, has declined so dramatically.

Wow, that was excellent defensive workrate by Ronaldo around the 5 mins mark, he sprinted back around 80 metres to protect his fullback who was outnumbered at the far post. I thought it was Khedira when I saw someone desperately trying to get back.
