There is no other sports team or sports figure I hate more than this club and their president. I actually detest that dude.
Please tell me how this makes any kind of sense for Sporting? Why eat his salary? Without playing there is no way to entice anyone to buy him. The only thing they could do now is loan him out, and after his year at Fla, I have a hard time believing that he could raise his stock any higher than after his stay in Gavea. Plus he is getting up in age for a guy with his style and workrate.
Sporting fans are putting Mr. Carvalho up on a pedestal if he were some God. I guess we are missing something.
Wonder how he's going to do with another talented team, look for Fluminense to have a solid defense but rely a lot on wing play (good for carlinhos) and Conca for offense. They should be pretty solid this season at Serie B Go go go Portuguesa!
Can anyone elaborate on the Portuguesa situation? I can't go on globo or twitter until i watch the psg match.
It's a Liminar, which means... until it is decided on the court of law the final decision Lusa gains 4 points. Means nothing until the decision becomes final. Now here is the kicker... If the Liminar stands, Lusa gets 4 points, and Fla goes down, so I want to see if CBF will then decide to keep 21 teams in Serie A, something they dismissed completely when Lusa was the 21st team.
Fla would need to sue CBF also in order to get their 4 points back. The previous liminares were knocked down because the court contested that a fan does not have the legal grounds to sue for their team, it wasn't because they agreed with the ruling. This time portuguesa has legal ground so they are going to see this all the way. Now would Fla sue CBF? I don't think so, also CBF and Fifa have already said they would put sanctions on portuguesa for going to the civil court, so portuguesa likely won't be able to participate on international competitions for a while. I don't think Flamengo is willing to risk that, but I do think CBF would keep 21 teams in Serie A in order to avoid Flamengo going down, or in case Flamengo sues in order to avoid Flu going down.
That letter Sporting published was ridiculous. Borderlining on insane. http://globoesporte.globo.com/futeb...adotar-medidas-legais-contra-fla-e-timao.html
@ESPNagora: Fim da novela: Elias é do Corinthians. Leia mais em http://t.co/TU9RMe4ph4? Since we are talking about Sporting, I need to see Elias on the pitch before I believe it.
Soooo, Sporting accepted the same exact offer (4 milhoes parcelados) Fla has been making for months and months and months. Really makes sense.
The news say Anelka's date of arrival in Belo Horizonte is yet to be determined, and the round of 16 begin next week. Atl.-MG has qualified - I wonder if he'll play at least the return leg of the oitavas-de-final. That'd be an interesting debut, at Horto, as Atl.-MG is a draw away from winning its group and thus securing home field advantage for its first knockout round matchup.
