I love the optimism guys, but Beckerman is a sub and only a sub. We should be content with the fact that he qualifies to be in the team. Afterall, it is only Cameron, Landycakes, Beckerman, and Rimando that are the only MLSers in the team, only Landycakes isn't a tertiary level backup.

The team isn't the star. Dempsey and Landycakes are the stars.

Now, let's hope for a 6-0 victory to get the monkey of our backs.

A&B may not have anyone who is a top professional, but theyhave a guy on the worst hair in FIFA team. Go Go Griffith!

Hard for me to be jazzed up about any of this. It's the kind of game Landon will score a brace at least.

This reminds me of watching many US Women's games in the 1990s. There were only about six good teams in the world, and most teams the US played would bunker all game long.

Things have changed quick, that is for sure. I am still shocked at our fallen dominance in that, and also tennis.

What? Only 2-0 at the half? Com'on guys! We need a England-Faroe Islands 10-0 blowout!

Great goal for A&B; Onyewu sucks. Totally sucks. What did Cameron do so poorly against Scotland that he hasn't seen the field since while Onyewu had a horrible game against Brazil and is stinking it up here?

Kinda worrying that the US hasn't scored in run of play against these guys...

This passing is awful. This game has turned sour.

Onyewu is doing a great job playing himself out of the team. Gomez is our best striker. Edu still sucks. I'm still trying to figure out what makes Edu supposedly better than Beckerman, because I'm not seeing it when he's playing for the US.

Pretty gawdawful performance if you ask me. The US is not much of a team. It's a bunch of pretty good and a couple really good players that don't seem to give a rats ass. Tyler bailing them out saying they have been practicing to much is a load. A big load. The "answer" isn't even on the team.

These guys hardly play for each other. Bradley looked pissed Gomez scored after getting tied up with him on the shot. Gomez was a pretty bright spot in my opinion. Altidore should ride the pine from now until kingdom comes. Boyd makes Findley's touch look stellar.

Bad passes, bad give away's, lazy and disinterested play for most of the game.

This team has no heart. Brazil, Canada and now this. Play with some passion for f*&k sake or at least for your country.

Katy bar the door if this team shows up in Guatemala. They will get run off the pitch. Mark my words.

    *yawn*

Just woke up after being put to sleep... has this team ever heard the quote, "you can't score if you don't shoot"? Possession is awesome and all, but shoot the ball!!! Ya, ya, we won. Woopty f'n do! Teams like that should not have a chance. It should have been 6-0, 8-1. Pure and utter garbage. Why in the hell were we playing keep away during the middle of the game? ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!!!!!

Side Note: Oney.... whatever, he's awful! I could defend better than him (most likely not, but you get the point)!

    what. the. ********.

did someone come in the middle of the night and chop off everyone's balls? i mean seriously. where in the ********ing hell is the sense of pride, the sense of urgency, the sense to BE the better team instead of just thinking you are when you step on the pitch. this team is ********ing weak, weak in the heart, weak in the legs, weak in the pants. i think bradley spent more time walking, literally ********ing walking, to balls and throwing his arms around when a ball gets into space instead of making some goddamn effort to get to it. and edu, holy shit. i'm convinced this guy found a few terabytes worth of jurgen klinnsman taking money shots from german shepherds or something. this guy has absolutely no ********ing business being on the field, he absolute GARBAGE. how he is getting time over beckerman after all the awful awful give aways, horrible touches, weak passes to nobody and hilariously bad play is beyond me.

onyewu. please. please just stop. take off the jersey, set it on the desk and leave. you're done, time to stop wasting our time and damn near screwing us over.

gomez was the only one who gave a shit out there, he was flying around challenging players, trying to get a touch on the ball, working space and being a menace. if i were him i would have been SCREAMING at bradley to get the ******** out of the way not once, but twice on those two shots right before he scored the goal. if the keeper had somehow managed to make a save i would have walked right over to bradley and punched him the ********ing face.

i will be absolutely shocked if we get a result in guatemala.

Really do wish Klinsmann would play Beckerman, Torres going down pretty much killed that opportunity.

Anyone know who scored for CR?

Edit: Maybe we need a qualifying thread?

Edit: Edit: Sabo got at least one according to the announcer, just missed another...

want to have your sides bursting in laughter? read the article on ESPN's soccernet with the grades for the US game. this is one fine dandy of a gem right here:

(and i'm not making this shit up)

BHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA. holy wow. i've been laughing for like a solid 5 minutes after reading that one. where does ESPN find these assholes?

if you want to waste your time reading the rest of his toilet paper:

He is quicker than Beckerman and he is better defensively. Both of Beckerman's weaknesses.

Quicker is about the only thing I'd agree with there. Beckerman is a solid defender.

Beckerman is not even the best midfield defender in the MLS. Alonso is better, and it is statistically proven that Beckerman's prowess isn't at defending, but at short, simple passing.
