Should add Gotoku Sakai, Japan's #3 left back, to the national question section.

He is not Cap-Tied to Japan. But he has not shown any interest in the USMNT. But yes, if Zahavi and Ponce are on the list....He should be there too

roger....i added him to my list so he'll appear on the next revised list i do (since i can't go back and edit it now). regardless, here is my nationality question mark leftbacks right now:

    [Left Back] Nationality Question Marks:
    Rodney Wallace (25)-[DC United]
    Fabian Johnson (26)-[VFL Wolfsburg]
    Miguel Angel Ponce (25*)-[CD Guadalajara]
    Gotoku Sakai (23*)-[Albirex Niigaata]

Of these, who is the most likely to suit up for the USMNT? Sakai is probably the least likely of the group considering he's already in the set-up for Japan. is Johnson even playing any more? i have not been following his career that closely, to be honest.

Daniel Williams has played 45+ minutes in Freiburgs last 2 matchs at LB.
    Including one start at LB.

Eric Lichaj has either started or switched to (during the game) LB in Leeds last 5 matches.

I guess what im trying to say is both should be considered fairly high at LWB.

Were the Hoyos brothers on the List? Although Nationality Question marks (argentina), both note worthy.

Also I dont think I saw Euan Holden (Stu's Bro) on the List. Born in 88. He is a defender for Danish 1st Division side FC Hjorring.

Steve Purdy has said he will play for El Salvador and the wheels are in motion for him to get his first cap on May 29th vs Honduras and play in the Gold Cup.

Euan Holden-what position in the backline does he play?

Michael is on the list, but not his brother. do you know his age (i know he's a FW)?

For both daniel williams and eric lichaj i have them slotted as right backs but i do have their alternate positions at LB. i'm waiting to see if Bob will slide them over or they declare that is their best position before i say that is their primary position.

    Euan plays CB

Kevin Hoyos is 18. And he is a U-18 striker for Estudiantes de la Plata

And on the Lichaj & Williams situation: understandable. Both are still technically RB until declared otherwise ;)

with MLS entering midseason and with the Gold Cup almost over; here is my updated roster with my opinions on who should move up and down the ladders. Note, i have put the player by the 2014 age, i have placed player in only one position category but i tried to include alternate positions in (), and i have ranked players based on Bob's call-ups. I will include on this edition on some players if i believe they will be moving up or down soon. Again, i want constructive criticism because i would like to have the most accurate list possible and i understand i may have forgot someone or neglected if they are at a different club by accident.

Other notes: asterisk denotes an olympic eligible player. and the # denotes a player that has either not received a cap under Bradley while being ranked or is not ranked but has received a call. also, lime denotes a positive remark, gray a neutral remark, and red a negative remark.

    2. Carlos Bocanegra (35)-[Saint Etienne] (LB-alt) still important, but for how long?
    3. Tim Ream (26)-[New York Red Bulls] knocked down, but still young enough that he should still well entrenched in team
    4. Oguchi Onyewu (32)-[FC Twente] needs a miracle to stay a part of team. will probably fall off radar
    Primary Back-ups
    5. #Zak Whitbread (30)-[Norwich City] should get a call for the next possible friendly.
    6. Omar Gonzalez (26)-[Los Angeles Galaxy] might get more of a chance to prove self when Gold Cup is over

    10. Jay DeMerit (34)-[Vancouver Whitecaps] not needed anymore

Ike Opara (25*)-[San Jose Earthquakes] needs to solidify himself as a starter before he can live up to the hype of our future
AJ Soares (25)-[New England Revolution] after an impressive rookie season, he might get a chance at camp cupcake
Eric Brunner (28)-[Portland Timbers] in my honest opinion, one of the best and most underrated defenders in MLS.
#Nat Borchers (33)-[Real Salt Lake] while he is a rock in MLS, he is probably too incorporate into the fold anymore.

    Honorable Mention:
    Matt Besler (27)-[Sporting Kansas City]

    Rauwshan McKenzie (28)-[Real Salt Lake]

    Kyle Davies (25*)-[Los Angeles Galaxy]
    Cole Grossman (25*)-[Columbus Crew]
    Greg Eckhardt (25*)-[VPS Vaasa]
    Sebastian Ibeagha (23*)
    Chris Taylor (25*)-[Portland Timbers]
    Moises Hernandez (22*)-[FC Dallas]
Ethan White (23*)-[DC United] moving up the charts FAST. he is actually probably our best olympic eligible center defender.
Perry Kitchen (22*)-[DC United] (CDM-alt) him and white have been pretty good in MLS as center backs...especially when you consider their tender age. like White, it's possible that they both should be in the Cupcake roster if Bob wants to prep for Olympics.
#Gale Agbossoumonde (22*)-[Djurgarden IF] after finally finding a club, "Boss" has done everything to not live up to the hype. hopefully, he smooths his rough edges or else he will be the next ofori sarkodie
John Anthony Brooks (21)-[Hertha Berlin] from all the reports out of the U-20 camp, he is looking to be a rock in the back. it'll be a while before he's ready for the senior team, but he's been the most hyped defender i've heard about in a long time.

    RIGHT WING BACKS
    PRIMARY:
    First Team:
    1. Steve Cherundolo (35)-[Hannover 96] Cherundolo is actually probably our best field player right now besides maybe Dempsey. if he can keep this form going for four more years, no one could replace him. he is the best RB we have ever produced by far...better than Sanneh in 2002.
    2. Timothy Chandler (24*)-[FC Nurnberg] (RM-alt) please, stay with us is all i have to say. he is our future
    Primary Back-ups:
    3. Jonathan Spector (28)-[West Ham United] (LB, CB, RM, CDM-alt) Specs needs to find himself a new club and lock down a position or he could see himself off the roster entirely. However, i am faithful for a positive return.
    Alternate:
    4. Sean Franklin (29)-[Los Angeles Galaxy] (CB-alt) he's not poor, but he has to dominate if he is ever going to compete with the likes of Dolo and Chandler for PT.

    NOT RATED:
    Keep an Eye on:
Kevin Alston (26)-[New England Revolution] like Franklin, he needs to step up his game if he is ever going to become a nat.
Sheanon Williams (24*)-[Philadelphia Union] he has been impressive for such a young RB this season. should be at C. Cupcake.
    Jeremy Hall (25)-[Portland Timbers] (RM-alt)
Zarek Valentin (22*)-[CD Chivas] (CB, LB-alt) unlike Sarkodie, Valentin has actually shown that he can be better than his older brother and succeed in MLS. he should get a call-up to Camp Cupcake if Bob wants to integrate some youth in the team.

    Honorable Mention:
    Hunter Freeman (29)-[Houston Dynamo]
    Tony Beltran (26)-[Real Salt Lake]
    Frank Simek (29)-[Carlisle United]
    Chris Korb (26)-[DC United]
    Chance Myers (26)-[Sporting Kansas City]
    Jalil Anibaba (25)-[Chicago Fire] (CB-alt)
    Jonathan Leathers (28)-[Vancouver Whitecaps] (CB-alt)

    On the Outside:
    James Riley (32)-[Seattle Sounders]
    Luke Sassano (28)-[Sporting Kansas City]
    Mike Chabala (30)-[Houston Dynamo]
    Jed Zayner (30)-[DC United]
    Wes Knight (27)-[Vancouver Whitecaps] (WG-alt)
    Steve Kinney (26)-[Chicago Fire]
    Dan Gargan (32)-[Toronto FC]

    Olympic Eligible:
    Korey Veeder (22*)-[Columbus Crew]
    Bilal Duckett (25*)-[Vancouver Whitecaps]
Kofi Sarkodie (23*)-[Houston Dynamo] (LB-alt) the promising prospect has struggled in his first season in MLS.

    Nationality Question Marks:
Daniel Williams (25*)-[SC Freiburg] (LB, CDM-alt) came back strong after a long lay off. Hopefully, he can stay healthy and he will probably get a call-up some time in the 2011/12 season...if he accepts

    LEFT WING BACKS:
    PRIMARY
    First Team
    1. Eric Lichaj (25)-[Leeds United] (RB-Alt) with Dolo and Chandler dominating the right side, Lichaj brings almost as much to the table on the left. Spain game aside, he is showing that he is our LB future.
    Alternates:
    1. Jonathan Bornstein (29)-[Tigres UANL] (LM, CB-alt) unless he can turn things around, we may have finally seen the last of Bornsucks.
    2. Heath Pearce (29)-[CD Chivas] (RB-alt) despite an alright MLS season, with the young, up-and-comers, he will have to pick up his game if he is to get any more minutes with the national team.
    3. Zach Loyd (26)-[FC Dallas] (RB, CB, MF-alt) while he had a solid performance against Chile at LB, he has not done much this season to stand out that he should be our future LB. however, he should still get a chance to prove himself.
    4. Anthony Wallace (25*)-[Colorado Rapids] (RB-alt) although he is not a dominant LB in MLS, he is still a young and promising prospect that should be named to the Camp Cupcake roster to prove himself. the Olympics will be his testing ground.

    NOT RATED:
    Keep an Eye On:
Chris Wingert (32)-[Real Salt Lake] (RB-alt)
Darrius Barnes (27)-[New England Revolution] (CB-alt)
Corey Ashe (28)-[Houston Dynamo] came out of no where to possibly be a contender. still, i would not label him the future at LB either.
Rich Balchan (25*)-[Columbus Crew] (CB, RB-alt) has played well for his rookie season at LB. he should get a look at Camp Cupcake and like Wallace, the Olympics will say a lot about where he stands with this team.

    Honorable Mention:
    Marco Vidal (28)-[CF Pachuca]
    Edgar Castillo (27)-[Puebla FC] (LM-alt)
AJ De la Garza (26)-[Los Angeles Galaxy] (CB-alt)
Michael Harrington (28)-[Sporting Kansas City] (RB-alt)
    Jordan Harvey (30)-[Philadelphia Union]
    Todd Dunivant (34)-[Los Angeles Galaxy]

    On the Outside:
    Marc Burch (30)-[DC United]
    Scott Lorenz (26)-[Sporting Kansas City]
    Daniel Woolard (30)-[DC United]
    Blake Wagner (26)-[Vancouver Whitecaps] (LM-alt)
Chris Tierney (28)-[New England Revolution] (LM-alt)
    Kevin Goldthwaite (31)-[Portland Timbers]
Tim Ward (27)-[San Jose Earthquakes] (RB-alt)

    Olympic Eligible:
    Greg Garza (22*)-[Estoril Praia]
    Sean Cunningham (21*)-[Molde FK]
Bryan de la Fuente (21*)-[Chivas USA]
Tyler Lassiter (25*)-[New York Red Bulls]
    Juan Pablo Ocegueda (20*)-[Tigres]
    Danny Potts (20*)-[West Ham United]

    Nationality Question Marks:
    Rodney Wallace (25)-[Portland Timbers]
    Fabian Johnson (26)-[TSG Hoffenheim]
    Miguel Angel Ponce (25*)-[CD Guadalajara]
    Gotoku Sakai (23*)-[Albirex Niigaata]
    Oskar Gasecki [Borussia Dortmund]

    CENTRAL DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS:
    PRIMARY:
    First Team
    1. Michael Bradley (26)-[Aston Villa]
    2. Jermaine Jones (32)-[Blackburn Rovers]
    3. Maurice Edu (27)-[Rangers FC] (CB-alt)
    Primary Back-up
    4. Ricardo Clark (31)-[Eintracht Frankfurt] (CB-alt) it looks as though Bob is moving this team forward without Clark in the picture.
    First Alternates:
    5. Dax McCarty (27)-[DC United] he has pretty much the exact same story as Loyd. really good game against Chile, but he has not done enough in MLS to warrant a full time spot on the first team.
    6. Kyle Beckerman (32)-[Real Salt Lake] while his age will probably keep him from ever being a first team player, he should be a reliable back-up if he we ever get desperate in qualifying.
    Alternates
    7. Jeff Larentowicz (30)-[Colorado Rapids] (CB-alt) he's young enough where he should still be a contender for B-team call-ups.
    8. Brian Carroll (32)-[Philadelphia Union] i do not see this team moving forward with Carroll in the picture
    9. Logan Pause (33)-[Chicago Fire] if Carroll isn't going to be in the picture then i definitely cannot see Pause.

    NOT RATED
    Keep an Eye on:
Jack Jewsbury (33)-[Portland Timbers] honestly, he may be the best player in MLS right now. unfortunately, he's probably too old to be considered.
Amobi Okugo (23*)-[Philadelphia Union] (CB-alt) he was doing really well before his injury...hopefully, he can pick up where he left off because he was showing that he is the future for our MF.

    Honorable Mention:
    Michael Lahoud (27)-[CD Chivas] (CB-alt)
    Pat Phelan (29)-[New England Revolution]
    #Sam Cronin (26)-[San Jose Earthquakes]
Ben Zemanski (26)-[CD Chivas] (CM, CB-alt)
    Nick LaBrocca (29)-[Chivas USA]
Nathan Sturgis (26)-[Toronto FC] (CB, LB-alt)

    On the Outside:
    Anton Peterlin (27)-[Plymouth Argyle]
    Clyde Simms (32)-[DC United]

    Olympic Eligible:
    Dillon Powers (23*)
    Alfredo Morales (24*)-[Hertha Berlin]
    Jared Jeffrey (23*)-[Mainz II]
    Bryan Arguez (25*)-[Estoril Praia]
    Conor Shanosky (22*)-[DC United]
    Fabian Hurzeler (21*)-[Bayern Munich]

    Nationality Question Mark:
    Tony Tchani (25*)-[Toronto FC]

    CREATIVE CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS/WINGERS:
    PRIMARY:
    First Team:
    1. Stuart Holden (28)-[Bolton Wanderers] the Holden before injury was one of our best players, but who knows how he will return??? please, stay healthy Stuart. we NEED you.
    Primary Back-ups
    2. Sacha Kljestan (29)-[RSC Anderlecht] going from almost seeing himself on the roster forever, to a contender to start. playing for Anderlecht has seemed to help him incredibly. All he needs is consistency.
    3. Benny Feilhaber (29)-[New England Revolution]
    4. Alejandro Bedoya (27)-[Orebro SK] Similiar to Kljestan, Bedoya seems to finally making himself a name on this team. he may never be a starter but he can be dependable off the bench.
    Alternates
    5. Jose Francisco Torres (26)-[Pachuca CF] curious? why has torres not seen any minutes since Slovenia? he's still a very young and promising midfielder. Hopefully, we will see more of Torres next season. he is defintely more deserving of a spot than Adu or Rogers.

    NOT RATED:
    Keep an Eye On:
    #Brad Evans (29)-[Seattle Sounders] (CM, WG-alt)
#Geoff Cameron (28)-[Houston Dynamo] (CB, RB-alt) i once considered Geoff the future for our central defense, but with him deciding to play in the MF in MLS, he will probably never be a member of this team.
#Eric Alexander (26)-[FC Dallas] going from Camp Cupcake call-up to not even being a contender this season.
    Collen Warner (25)-[Real Salt Lake]
Graham Zusi (27)-[Sporting Kansas City] has been very impressive this season.
    Anthony Ampaipitakwong (26)-[San Jose Earthquakes]

    Honorable Mention:
    Daniel Antunez (28)-[Estudiantes Tecos]
    Andrew Jacobson (28)-[FC Dallas]
    Eric Avila (26)-[FC Dallas]
    Stephen McCarthy (25)-[New England Revolution]
    Corben Bone (25)-[Chicago Fire]
    Gabriel Farfan (25)-[Philadelphia Union]
    Michael Farfan (25)-[Philadelphia Union]
    Ned Grabavoy (30)-[Real Salt Lake]

    On the Outside:
    Kevin Burns (29)-[Columbus Crew]
    Mike Seamon (25)-[Seattle Sounders]
    Servando Carrasco (25)-[Seattle Sounders]
    Ross LaBeaux (25)-[Colorado Rapids]
    Michael Videira (28)-[New England Revolution]
    Bryan Jordan (28)-[Los Angeles Galaxy]
    Stephen King (28)-[DC United]

    Olympic Eligible:
    Sebastian Lletget (21*)-[West Ham United]
Matt Kassel (24*)-[New York Red Bulls]
    Ryan Richter (25*)-[Philadelphia Union]
    Alex Molano (22*)-[Dinamo Zagreb]
    Gerson Mayen (25*)-[CD Chivas]
    Cesar Zamora (23*)-[CD Chivas]
    Victor Garza (22*)-[Tigres]
    Kelyn Rowe (22*)
Blair Gavin (25*)-[CD Chivas] after a very promising rookie season, Gavin will look to have to rebuild his career.
Danny Cruz (24*)-[Houston Dynamo] i believe he has a lot of potential, but he still has a lot of work to do...and that includes even being considered for the Olympics.
Michael Stephens (25*)-[Los Angeles Galaxy] should get minutes for the Olympic team and if it were me, i'd call him up for Camp Cupcake for preparation
    Davy Armstrong (22*)-[Colorado Rapids]
    Steven Emory (25*)-[Colorado Rapids]
    Zach Pfeffer (19*)-[Philadelphia Union]

    Nationality Question Marks:
    Isaac Acuna (24*)-[Queretaro]
    Ryan Smith (28)-[Sporting Kansas City]
    Hirofumi Moriyasu (29)-[Sydney FC]

    WINGERS/SECOND STRIKERS:
    PRIMARY:
    First Team
    1. Landon Donovan (32)-[Los Angeles Galaxy] wake up!
    2. Clint Dempsey (31)-[Fulham FC]
    Primary Back-up
    3. Freddy Adu (25*)-[Rizespor] i'm still scratching my head to why Bob called in Adu, but the fact he has not played a single minute yet makes me think that Bob believes it was a mistake to do so. Adu should be focused on the Olympics and his club career. However, he is still young enough that he can get back on the right track.
    4. Robbie Rogers (27)-[Columbus Crew] good God, Robbie Rogers? this guy has the touch of a donkey and the soccer brains of its ass.
    Alternates
    5. Mikkel Diskerud (23*)-[Stabaek] Bob should not neglect this young and promising player. he is the future of our national team. hopefully, he will get minutes later on in the 2011 year
    6. Brek Shea (24*)-[FC Dallas] (LB, CB-alt) Shea had two terrible performances for his first games, but he is having a superb season at LM this year. the question remains: will he play LB or LM for the national team? either way, he should be at Camp Cupcake.
    7. Brad Davis (32)-[Houston Dynamo] One of the best players in MLS right now. still, he might be too old and too damn slow to make it on the international level
    8. Eddie Gaven (27)-[Columbus Crew] he will probably never feature for us again unless we are digging really deep for players.

    NOT RATED:
    Keep an Eye On:
Dilly Duka (24*)-[Columbus Crew] he is a contender for a Camp Cupcake call-up...especially, if Bob leans towards the Olympic eligible players.
Josh Gatt (22*)-[Molde FK] really moving up the charts. may get a call as soon as January
Jorge Flores (24*)-[CD Chivas] he has played alright this season for Chivas. like Duka and Gatt, he may receive a surprise call-up if Bob favors olympic eligible players.
Chris Pontius (27)-[DC United] has been on a tear this season. he should be called up soon. no later than Camp Cupcake.
#Bobby Convey (31)-[San Jose Earthquakes] (LB-alt) i still believe Bob should look at him at LB for at least one friendly.

    Honorable Mention
    Kyle Nakazawa (26)-[Philadelphia Union]
    Quincy Amarikwa (26)-[Colorado Rapids]
Austin Da Luz (26)-[New York Red Bulls]
    #Justin Mapp (29)-[Philadelphia Union]
    #Santino Quaranta (29)-[DC United]
    #Sal Zizzo (27)-[Portland Timbers]
    Lamar Neagle (27)-[Seattle Sounders]

    On the Outside
    Ryan Guy (28)-[New England Revolution]
    Shea Salinas (27)-[Vancouver Whitecaps]
    Preston Zimmermann (25)-[Darmstadt]
    #DaMarcus Beasley (32)-[Hannover 96]
    Joe Gjertsen (32)-[San Jose Earthquakes]
    Wells Thompson (30)-[Colorado Rapids]
    Peter Lowry (28)-[Portland Timbers]
    Ryan Pore (30)-[Portland Timbers]
    Jacob Peterson (29)-[Toronto FC]

    Olympic Eligible
    Francisco Navas (22*)-[Houston Dynamo]
Luis Gil (20*)-[Real Salt Lake] starting to get a lot of minutes for one of the best teams in the league at such a young age is always promising. he will probably have to wait another year or two before he becomes a contender to make a roster.
    Moises Orozco (22*)-[Tigres]
    Fuad Ibrahim (22*)
    Ryan Kinne (24*)-[New England Revolution]
    Alex Dixon (24*)-[Houston Dynamo]
Joe Gyau (21*)-[TSG 1899 Hoffenheim] rumor has it that he has made Hoffenheim's first team, and that is very impressive considering how young he is. Gyau might be our most promising teenager after Agudelo in our pool. keep your eyes peeled this season.
    Michael Nanchoff (24*)-[Vancouver Whitecaps]
    Danny Toia (22*)-[Real Salt Lake]
    Victor Ulloa (22*)-[FC Dallas]

    Nationality Question Marks:
Michael Hoyos (22*)-[Estudiantes] honestly, i do not ever see him cracking Argentina's senior team...which means he will probably accept a USMNT call-up.
Diego Chavarri (25*)-[Sporting Cristal] i do not know much about this guy except there is a lot of hype.
    Alex Zahavi (23*)-[Hapoel Acre]
Junior Hoilett (23*)-[Blackburn Rovers] Good God if we could get this player, i would be ecstatic. However, the possibility is slim to none.

    CENTER FORWARDS
    PRIMARY:
    First Team:
    1. Jozy Altidore (24*)-[Bursaspor] after a couple disappointing seasons in Europe, Jozy has done very well in the Gold Cup until his injury. hopefully, he will get things straighten out and will be the striker we need him to be.
    Primary Back-ups
    2. Juan Agudelo (21*)-[New York Red Bulls] he is still our best prospect, but i am still scared of the eventual bubble bust once fans realize he is not the 2nd coming of Messi-ah.
    3. Chris Wondolowski (31)-[San Jose Earthquakes] he got his deserved shot with the Nats this summer, but it looks as if he will not be part of the picture moving forward.
    Alternates
    4. Teal Bunbury (24*)-[Sporting Kansas City] probably without question, the biggest disappointment of the 2011 MLS season. he started off hot, but has been relegated to the bench after not performing.
    5. Charlie Davies (27)-[DC United] Davies is no where near what he use to be, but he still adds that swagger which is hard to overlook. i believe he should continue to be evaluated but we should be careful before we make him an automatic starter.
    6. Hercules Gomez (32)-[Estudiantes Tecos] despite a strong ending in Mexico, Gomez may be on the backburner for this team considering his age and our desire to move this team in a new and younger direction
    7. Edson Buddle (33)-[FC Ingolstadt 04] pretty much the same story as Gomez without the strong season at the end.

    NOT RATED:
    Keep an Eye On:
    Justin Braun (27)-[CD Chivas]
Eugene Starikov (25)-[FC Tom Tomsk] one to definitely keep an eye on. i hope he will get a call sometime this upcoming season to prove his worth.
    #Kenny Cooper (29)-[Portland Timbers]
CJ Sapong (25)-[Sporting Kansas City] the rookie with incredible physical traits has relegated our future target forward to the bench. we should keep an eye on him
Conor Doyle (22*)-[Derby County] if he can continue to get minutes for Derby County, he should earn a call-up at some point next season.
Chad Barrett (28)-[Los Angeles Galaxy] he's doing real well this season, but i still would hesitate before i call him up.
    Conor Casey (32)-[Colorado Rapids]
Will Bruin (24*)-[Houston Dynamo] ROY frontrunner. should receive a call-up in January.
Blake Brettschneider (25*)-[DC United] While Bruin is the ROY frontrunner, Brettschneider might be the late comer to sneak past Bruin or Soares for that honor.

    Honorable Mention
    Zack Schilawski (27)-[New England Revolution]
    Steve Lenhart (27)-[San Jose Earthquakes]
    #Eddie Johnson (30)-[Preston North End]
    #Robbie Findley (27)-[Nottingham Forest]
    Chris Rolfe (31)-[Aalborg]
    Mike Grella (27)-[Carlisle United]
    Tommy Heinemann (27)-[Columbus Crew]
    Cam Weaver (30)-[Houston Dynamo]
    Andre Akpan (26)-[Colorado Rapids]
    Mike Magee (29)-[Los Angeles Galaxy]

    On the Outside
    Bright Dike (27)-[Portland Timbers]
    Jason Garey (29)-[Houston Dynamo]
    Jemal Johnson (29)-[Lokomotiv Sofia]
    Marcus Tracy (27)-[Aalborg]
    Andrew Cristman (29)-[Los Angeles Galaxy]
    David Estrada (26)-[Seattle Sounders]
    Zak Boggs (27)-[New England Revolution]
    Cody Arnoux (26)-[Real Salt Lake]
    Gabe Ferrari (25)-[Chicago Fire]
    Justin Meram (25)-[Columbus Crew]

    Olympic Eligible
    Jack McInerney (21*)-[Philadelphia Union]
    Tristan Bowen (24*)-[CD Chivas]
Omar Salgado (20*)-[Vancouver Whitecaps] very young forward that is having some growing pains in his first MLS season.
Adrian Ruelas (23*)-[Jaguares] look to see how he does in his first season with the big boys in Mexico.
Bobby Wood (21*)-[1860 Munich] if he can stay healthy, he is a very promising forward
    Tony Taylor (24*)-[GD Estoril Praia]
Corey Hertzog (23*)-[New York Red Bulls]
    Chris Agorsor (23*)-[Philadelphia Union]
    Andrew Wiedeman (24*)-[FC Dallas]
    Jack McBean (19*)-[Los Angeles Galaxy]
    Peri Marosevic (25*)-[FC Dallas]
    Matt Luzunaris (25*)-[San Jose Earthquakes]
    Stefan Jerome (21*)-[Sigma Olomouc]
    Ellis McLoughlin (23*)-[San Jose Earthquakes]
    Soony Saad (21*)
    Ryan Kinne (24*)-[New England Revolution]
    Jerome Kiesewetter (21*)-[Hertha Berlin]
Terrence Boyd (23*)-[Borussia Dortmund II] a lot of hype is being placed on Boyd this season.
    Andrew Wooten (25*)-[Kaiserslautern II]
    Jann George (21*)-[FC Nurnberg]

    Nationality Question Marks:
Danny Mwanga (22*)-[Philadelphia Union] still an impressive prospect that i believe we really need to try and get.
    Sebastien Le Toux (30)-[Philadelphia Union]
    Macoumba Kandji (28)-[Colorado Rapids]
    Darlington Nagbe (23*)-[Portland Timbers]
    Kevin Hoyos (21*)-[Estudiantes]

with all of that in mind, if we do in fact play Belgium in our next friendly on Sept 8 in Belgium...the 18 man roster i'm looking at, prematurely:

    (2) GK:
    Tim Howard, David Yelldell
    notable omissions: Brad Guzan

    (6) DEF:
Timothy Chandler, Eric Lichaj, Daniel Williams (Zach Loyd), Clarence Goodson, George John, Zak Whitbread
notable omissions: Carlos Bocanegra, Steve Cherundolo, Tim Ream, Jonathan Spector, Omar Gonzalez
*I wanted to bring in Gonzalez, but i would have to wait.

    (6) MID:
Landon Donovan, Maurice Edu, Michael Bradley, Jermaine Jones, Mikkel Diskerud, Jose Torres
notable omissions: Sacha Kljestan, Alejandro Bedoya, Stuart Holden

    (4) FWD
Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Eugene Starikov, Conor Doyle
    notable omissions: Juan Agudelo

    starting XI:
    ---------------Altidore---Dempsey-----------------
    Torres--------------------------------------Donovan
    ----------------Bradley-----Jones------------------
    Lichaj---------------------------------------Chandler
    ---------------Whitbread----Goodson----------------
    -----------------------Howard-----------------------

*note that i'd tuck Torres inside while allowing Donovan and Dempsey freedom to roam, as well.

    Subs:
-Williams comes on for Lichaj or Chandler (midway-late)
-John would on for Whitbread (early-late)
-Edu would come on for either Bradley or Jones (early-midway)
-Diskerud would come on for Torres (early)
-Starikov would come on for Dempsey (late)
-Doyle would come on for Donovan (late)

I'm guessing this will be an all Euro affair with John, Donovan, Loyd, and Torres staying on this side of the Atlantic. LA plays on the 9th, Dallas on the 10th. Plus it's right in the middle of CONCACAF champions league group play and LA and Dallas will need all of their players as fresh as possible.

Despite what the paranoid masses on here will probably tell you, it boils down to his team wouldn't let him go and Bradley couldn't risk demanding he come to the Gold Cup and Chandler losing his spot on the roster.

Agreed, this is singlehandedly the most useful thread on this board.

Agreed. We should go all-Euro for the Belgium game, but we shouldn't be too experimental. We could do something like this:

    ---------Altidore---------
    Dempsey-Holden-Diskerud
    ------Bradley--Jones-----
    Lichaj------------Chandler
    -----Goodson-Parkhurst---
    ---------Howard----------

Potential subs (6 in a friendly)
FW: Starikov or Doyle (for Altidore at halftime)
RM: Bedoya or Gatt (for Diskerud)
CAM: Adu (for Holden at 65')
CDM: Edu or Spector (for Bradley at 60')
CB: Whitbread (for Parkhurst at halftime)
GK: Guzan (for Howard at halftime)

I am pretty sure Holden will still be injured or just returning from injury so he won't be there. I agree that we should go mostly European except for a couple of borderline guys like Agudelo and maybe Shea, but no need to bring LD, but I'll include him into my 18 anyway.

Here is my starting XI for the Belgium game:

    [LINEUP-4-4-2]Dempsey,Altidore,Donovan,Bradley,Jones,Chandler,Lichaj,Bocanegra,Goodson,Cherundolo,Howard[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

    Guzan for Howard
    Buddle for Altidore
    Kljestan for Jones
    Whitbread for Goodson
    Gonzalez for Bocanegra
    Bedoya for Donovan

Although I see no reason to bring LD all the way to Brussels for one game.

In that case, I would start Bedoya on the left and use Dempsey in Holden's spot.

If Omar Gonzalez does transfer to Europe in time for the Belgium friendly, I would use him instead of Parkhurst.

The CDM sub should be Edu, Kljestan or Spector... Edu is the first-choice but so much will depend on form and who they are playing for come the autumn.

I'll keep crossing my fingers that it's more than one game. Belgium is playing us because there's a gap in their UEFA qualifying schedule on that FIFA date (Sept. 6). Three other teams have a gap in their qualifying schedule on Sept. 2, also a FIFA date: Switzerland, Denmark and Spain...

also, Burkina Faso has a break in ANC qualifying Sept. 2. Maybe USA could hit them up in Ouagadougou and catch a flight from there to Brussels? Probably not... I just wanted to say Ouagadougou.

Other than that exceptional.

    Great OP by Eleven Bravo.

One small nit way down the list: Cole Grossman is not a CB, he's a midfielder (Columbus Crew).

Brettschneider can definitely be the next Brian Ching. Good in the air, a great soccer brain, and works his ass off. I've been extremely impressed with his play this season.
