At least Castillo can play on the wing. I think it forces FabJ back, which isn't a bad thing necessarily.
Beasley has been better this cycle than people give him credit for. And he's a veteran leader for the group. We have so few options in our left back pool, people really shouldn't be expressing that this could be a "blessing in disguise." That's garbage.
I absolutely want Beasley to go to the cup for a 4th time. I don't want him starting, but he is an ideal bench player. Need a goal? He can come in for width. Need to kill off a game? He can come in a mark the hell out of a player.
Ditto, I want beasley there, his turn around was just too fun to see I will be pretty bummed if the injury is bad.
Similarly, we have so few quality options in our left mid pool, people probably shouldn't get too excited about the prospect of Fabian Johnson being forced to stay back at LB regardless of the situation, because we have nobody else we're really comfortable with at LB.
One of the best narratives to me of this cycle has been the re-emergence of Bease. This is too bad. I wonder whether it also might give JK the "cover" he needs to invite Chandler to the 30, assuming he is healthy. Not suggesting he should or shouldn't, just curious.
He is your utility infielder. The only guy in the pool who can (and has) played every position along the back. He's going regardless of Beasley or Evans health or whatever is going on in Chandler's head.
Yep, I would say that after his last performance, and comparing that directly to Castillo's last USNT performance, Parkhurst is ahead of Castillo on the LB depth chart.
Unless there is some indication that he would have called him in to the Mexico match if he didn't have commitments for Tijuana, I'd be shocked if he were to be called in assuming that he has been overlooked already.
Just want to say, we are all jumping the gun a bit here. Let's get some news on the nature of the injury. If there is a defender I'd like to leave behind, it's Gonzalez.
Cameron has played all spots as well. He has played both wing back spots in the EPL and has played both CB spots spots at the Nats and MLS.
I believe he definitely started in game 1 of the hex versus Honduras [next to Omar]. He also started next to Boca I think versus Guatemala in KC in 2012. That's only off the top of my head. I am sure there were a handful of other games.

Neither of those games sound right. Parkhurst did not play in Honduras. The starting backs were Chandler, Gonzo, Cam, and Fab. The subs were Zusi, Edu, and Sacha http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/round=258372/match=300221995/report.html Against Guat in KC, Parky played left back with Cam and Boca played in the middle, Cher on the right http://www.starsandstripesfc.com/us...a-2014-world-cup-qualifying-lineups-team-news
