With the 2014 World Cup approaching, I think its time for us to re-start our injury report thread. This will be the place for us to discuss injury news, recovery timelines, etc. for our World Cup candidates. Here's one just posted: Brian Sciaretta @BrianSciaretta 9m Not good news on #usmnt defender Eric Lichaj who will undergo a double hernia operation. No timetable for return set http://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/article/hernia-operation-for-lichaj-1418498.aspx …
It's reality.............................we've done it in the runup to the last several world cups. This is actually designed to be news unlike 95% of what's on this page. http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...ous-injury-hits-u-s-international-once-again/ Stuart Holden: 6-9 months (knee ligaments) Eric Lichaj: indefinite (double hernia operation)
And how many of those world cups did we win? Now do you get it? Are you saying that it is not news when our players change their hairstyles? Chandler update, anyone? And what do we know about Jones' knee?
Chandler will be back the beginning of April...he'll have about a month/month and a half to make a case for the 30-man.
Mike Magee reportedly missed Chicago's opening game with hamstring "troubles." It looks like he might be ready for this weekend's game against Portland. We'll see.......................but that's a guy that NEEDS to be healthy and excelling during the first few months in MLS
Chandler's injury occurred in early February, and they said it was an 8-10 week recovery. He had a tear in his lateral meniscus. http://soccer.si.com/2014/02/08/timothy-chandler-knee-injury/
I actually like the idea of this thread to keep track of who has an outside shot to come back from injury. Obviously Holden is out now but besides that we have: Lichaj Gatt Chandler Churundolo And other minor knocks to Magee, and goodson
Zusi is 100% fine physically Jeff Carlisle @JeffreyCarlisle 6m To give this more context, I'm told Zusi was doing a photo shoot today & wasn't limited physically in any way. #usmnt #SportingKC Expand Reply Retweet Favorite More Jeff Carlisle @JeffreyCarlisle 8m A #SportingKC spokesperson says Graham Zusi isn't injured & didn't have an MRI. He was held out of training today to give him rest. #usmnt
Zusi skipped practice for a photo shoot, then claimed he needed rest? Where can I write and express my mock outrage? [Besides here, I mean.]
Looks like he was carrying some sort of injury in the exact spot he got hit. When he took his sock down he had a tick pad just below his knee.
Of course we are sad a human being is hurt, but it's kind of hard to not see the potential upside. No one is that "nice".
