With the 2014 World Cup approaching, I think its time for us to re-start our injury report thread. This will be the place for us to discuss injury news, recovery timelines, etc. for our World Cup candidates.

    Here's one just posted:

Not good news on #usmnt defender Eric Lichaj who will undergo a double hernia operation. No timetable for return set

Agreed. I hope it's short, though I just ran the post count up one myself.

And how many of those world cups did we win? Now do you get it?

Are you saying that it is not news when our players change their hairstyles?

Chandler update, anyone? And what do we know about Jones' knee?

Chandler will be back the beginning of April...he'll have about a month/month and a half to make a case for the 30-man.

Mike Magee reportedly missed Chicago's opening game with hamstring "troubles."

It looks like he might be ready for this weekend's game against Portland. We'll see.......................but that's a guy that NEEDS to be healthy and excelling during the first few months in MLS

I actually like the idea of this thread to keep track of who has an outside shot to come back from injury. Obviously Holden is out now but besides that we have:
    Lichaj
    Gatt
    Chandler
    Churundolo
And other minor knocks to Magee, and goodson

    Zusi is 100% fine physically
    1. Jeff Carlisle ‏@JeffreyCarlisle 6m
To give this more context, I'm told Zusi was doing a photo shoot today & wasn't limited physically in any way. #usmnt #SportingKC

A #SportingKC spokesperson says Graham Zusi isn't injured & didn't have an MRI. He was held out of training today to give him rest. #usmnt

Zusi skipped practice for a photo shoot, then claimed he needed rest?

Where can I write and express my mock outrage? [Besides here, I mean.]

Maybe he suffered a pulled groin at the photo shoot. Didn't that happen to Gronk?

Evans coming off early in the Seattle-Toronto game. Was on the end of a bad challenge.

Looks like he was carrying some sort of injury in the exact spot he got hit. When he took his sock down he had a tick pad just below his knee.

Those were his shin guards. But he had a lot of ice on the knee.

Stay classy Big Soccer. Celebrating a players injury is as low as one can get.

Of course we are sad a human being is hurt, but it's kind of hard to not see the potential upside. No one is that "nice".

As long as it's not career or life threatening. I'm really sorry, but Evans must not play in Brazil.
