Sahin to Pool on loan, dont think he fits Rodgers style of defensive possession game as he wasnt even averaging 80% passing rate in his last season at Dortmund and just had an injury prone year, anyway would have loved to have him here but RM are not selling and we arenot looking for a mid.

I think he'll be a perfect fit for Liverpool.

Him and Lucas is a mouth watering prospect.

Liverpool might actually be a problem this year.

Also, Bayern have signed Martinez for €40m on a five year deal apparently.

Luka Modric to Madrid for 25m plus 4.5m add-ons. Also apparently.

Meanwhile SAF is trying to get 29 year old van Persie for almost that price.

He does what he wants. ******** the midfield!

Dreadful decisions when you see what other clubs are doing.

They have a solid spine right through the team. They can surround that spine with average players and still be a problem.

I hope Ferguson doesn't roll out his typical bullcrap tactics and lineups against them at Anfield.

IMO not the right decision. Won't go as far as to call it dreadful, the man usually knows what he is doing.

Hardly Reina was awful last year and their centre backs only work when Agger is present, I dont rate Johnson or Enrique, rate Sahin and Lucas and Allen is decent. Gerrard isnt going to add much in a forward role imo and only forward I rate is Suarez, Borini hasnt even scored 10 goals in top flight yet.

Add to that a new manager who has done nothing yet and his success/praise comes from doing what he never did establishing that style at Swansea he just added things and it worked for him. There is a reason Liverpool finished 8 th and no it wasnt just down to deluded Dalglish.

Liverpool needed wingers, keep adding on Cms of which only one is an improvement who just had a nothing year in Spain and will take time to adjust, Chelsea need a defense and midfield keep adding on wing/am options, Arsenal need a tactical overhaul and City added Rodwell. Not even mentioning Spurs

For fuxake! We offered more than that for Modric in the past. We're not gonna get him from Spurs for a reasonable fee. Also, the only reported bid was 12M and even if it is up to where rumours suggest it is (22M) that's a long way off of 29.

Agreed with regards to Modric. Levy, was never gonna sell him to a top PL competitor for anything less than a fortune...his pricing of him for PL suitors was a joke.

    Yeah:

    1)Charlie Adam
    2) Jordan Henderson (who is a decent player in the right system)
    3) Stuart Downing (don't rate but also decent in the right system)
    4) Andy Carroll (see above)

    in addition to poor management.

They do need wingers but Gerrard isn't getting younger and Adam's time may be finished in the future. He certainly isn't starting material. Having Sahin rotate with Allen and possibly Lucas is wise. His team is built around the midfield so I think someone like Sahin was absolutely necessary. I think they'll end up signing him.

I don't understand your overall criticism, as it has nothing to do with the Sahin decision.

They were all bit part players, they had their no 1 defense and no 1 attack for most of the season or whatever season Gerrard can play and had more options in Bellamy Kuty Maxi.

You said everybody have been making moves that are far better and I disagree by pointing out, Liverpool front 3 Suarez, Borini Carroll/Gerrard and Downing at the moment seriously? despite whatever midfield they got behind them.

Charlie Adam: 28 Premier League Appearances
Jordan Henderson: 37 Premier League Appearances

The fact is their midfield has improved significantly this summer to add to their already 2 solid defenders and pesky attackers.

They will cause a problem if set up correctly.

Calm down, I'm the first one to say that we cannot go too far questioning Fergie, and am deffinetly excited by the prospect of Persie, even if it does go up to the very possible 25m pounds.

I just find it funny that while fans everywhere are clamoring desperately for a midfield signing, Fergie decides that the front third is where he is gonna add this summer.

Think Bayern also managed to get him to agree to gradually decrease his wages.

    Still bit part players.
You expect a midfield to come in and start immediately? We will see how much an improvement Allen is and how he isnt another Charlie Adam or how long Sahin takes to settle if he does. Again their problems lies upfront and in the managerial position.

Also, Johno, how do you know we offered more than 25m pounds for Modric?

Btw, I am one of the few that think midfield additions are not essential.
