I had the same problem. In the end I went to www.thefa.com , registered for a FAN number and brought tickets in the general sale this morning. got tickts in block 118 in the end, right next to the away section.

How strict will Wembley be with USA supporters in the non-US section? I'm also in England, and a broke college student to boot (who's trying to get to 10+ matches over the next month and a half as it is), so I'll probably be getting the cheap seats up top and get my USA atmosphere in the night before/at the bar the day of. My plan was to put my T-shirt on over my jersey and my scarf in my pocket when I go through the turnstiles and then put them back on when I get to the seats and just not be too obnoxious. This shouldn't cause any problems, right?

    It shouldn't, but it will.

Don't wear the colors, keep your mouth shut and sit on your hands.

I'm in the same situation as other yanks living abroad and can't get tickets through US Soccer. Will they still seat you in the US section if you purchase the day of the match?

Which to me, isnt worth saving a few bucks.

This is going to be a very fun game, and having 2,000 US supporters together at Wembley Stadium against the English is gonna feel like a World Cup game for us.

The atmosphere in the section is gonna be a lot of fun.

I just bought one ticket up top. Normally I'd agree with you, but it would cost an extra 70-80 dollars to get a US one and then ship it safely to England, which could be the cost of tickets for 2 other English league games. To do a whole semester in Europe with the current exchange rate, you have to skimp on everything. I'm sure for those of us that have to go that route, it will be still be crazy to see USA play in Wembley.

Thanks to my fellow Bigsoccer posters here who offered to help me out. As I informed them I now will not be able to attend because things are getting ramped up for me on my project. I had hoped to slip out for a week before things got moving along.

I originally had thought I would not be able to make it out but recently my plans got changed. What is the best way to get tickets in the US section this late?

your best bet will be to ask around here and hope someone else has a ticket or two that they wont be able to use. USSF has already turned in the tickets to the FA that were ordered, but maybe you could get in touch with USSF and see if they can somehow get you tickets.

Speaking of tickets, has anyone who has purchased tickets for this game online actually received the tickets yet?

Much like FCDallasAddie, I have a good friend who has decided that he is going to fly out for the game and really wants to sit in the US section. If anyone has an extra ticket for that game, please PM me.

I think I posted this in the wrong thread so here goes again. I just got this email from US Soccer:

From the U.S. Soccer Events Department Ticket Office

    Dear U.S. Soccer Fan,

Thank you for your ticket order for the upcoming U.S. Men’s National Team vs. England game at Wembley Stadium on May 28, 2008.

We are currently preparing your order for shipment. Due to changes affecting all ticket orders, we will be making an adjustment to the expected date of delivery. At the latest, your tickets will arrive at the billing address you provided by Friday, May 16, 2008.

In the case that you will not be at your billing address after May 16, you may choose to have your tickets left at Wembley Stadium for pick-up on the day of the match. If you would prefer to have your tickets left at will call at the stadium, please let us know by Wednesday, May 7, by replying to tickets@ussoccer.org (be sure to include your name and customer number in your correspondence). If we do not hear from you by May 7 we will arrange to have your tickets sent via UPS 2nd Day Air (or similar service) to the billing address provided.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

We look forward to seeing you at Wembley Stadium!

    Sincerely,

U.S. Soccer Events Department Ticket Office

    According to thefa.com:

Tickets purchased through TheFA.com are for the England section only. Away supporters who may have purchased tickets in the England section are advised NOT to wear their team's colours as they may be ejected from the stadium.

    Isnt England red? ;-)
