When will the Open Cup games get started?
The Cup starts on May 15th. KC enters in round 3 which is currently scheduled to take place on the 29th.
Which is a Tuesday (rare), two days after a league game.
Since we are unbeatable and everything, we should probably just assume we are gonna take the treble of usoc, ss, and the cup.
As long as we don't have to face Richmond again, I think we're golden.
The US Open Cup is really condensed and early this year. Dates below because its quite striking how thick and fast things come for the first 4 rounds. Now .. somewhere in there we will also be adding a friendly with a Premier League Team. I am fairly sure that the June 5th date is an international break.
3rd Round - May 29th
4th Round - June 5th (no close MLS game)
Quarters - June 26th (Union in Philly on the 23rd, Fire at LSP on the 29th)
Semi's - July 10th (Houston at LSP on the 7th, Crew on the 10th in OH)
Final - August 7th or 8th.
Just win it and such, shut everyone up then win everything else. I want everything. I won't rest until the Club World Cup rests at LSP.
well... until it gets moved to arrowhead and we have to create another replica.
Club World Cup <> 2000 MLS Cup Trophy
Posting at 1:43am is bad for your reading comprehension.
Even as someone who got it, your jab makes zero sense
if it doesn't make any sense to you, did you really "get it" then?
No such thing as a bad joke, only an audience that didn't really understand it, eh?
Oh I get it you're making another jab at the fact that the original MLS Cup trophy is going back to Arrowhead at the end of the season because a condition of the selling of the team was that Lamar got to keep the trophy.
And I'm saying it makes no sense that they'd get a WCC trophy should we miraculously some how win one there's no reason it'd go to the Hunts. But I'm sure you'll come up with some reason why you think it makes sense.
Harrington, Little K, Singh, Anyone who's ever played CB, Nagamura, The Sassano, That guy with two last names, Saad, and Dwyer all better be ready.
well, my reply to buzz there isn't in defense of my tongue-in-cheek comment. it's simply a comment on his reply. you have to admit it's funny to hear someone say that they get it, but that it doesn't make any sense to them. if it doesn't make any sense to you, you inherently do not get it. 'course, buzz is the authority on all things in this forum. he has to show that he gets it so that he can speak down on it.
think of it on the same level as the "yellow piping on the jersey" tongue-in-cheek comments. that's all it was... not a jab. if you read it as a jab, you're going to take into account the object of the jab and then decide which side you're on. if you're not on the side that the jab-er is, you'll likely not see any humor in it. a tongue-in-cheek comment is meant to be quickly read, to take note of only the basic similarities, and then move on.
you're being too literal about applying every detail of the real example to the hypothetical one. you're really living up to your screenname on this one. that's how people with no sense of humor analyze jokes. they break it down until it doesn't make sense instead of just taking it on its surface.
also, like i said above, if you (in general, not you specifically) didn't take it as a simple tongue-in-cheek comment, you probably have to disagree with what's been agreed upon with our mls cup trophy to get anything out of the comment... and that's probably the biggest problem here, since most of you don't.
actually, the funniest comment in all of this was vividox's. his comment about me having a lack of reading comprehension was a perfect example of a lack of reading comprehension.
i think you used irony... at errr... buzzzz... clink... chhachink.... aaaaaaaaaaa... difficulty with processing... can't.... comp...re... hend... *head explodes*
Speaking of the US Open Cup, the KC Athletics qualified again last night for the USOC winning 10-2 over a team from Cincinnati. The Athletics only had 10 men, but the team from Cinny only had 8.
would i be criminalized if i said i don't care about the usoc this season? certainly not yet. Let Seattle and DC play for it, i have loftier goals
I am cautiously optimistic that with the changes made to US Open Cup this year that it's going to start to be a more important competition very soon. I definitely want to be in contention for it.
Agreed. If anything, it's competetive matches for guys like Soony and Dom. But I want it all.
not from me. play the reserves, and if you find yourself in the semis, then take it seriously and go for it with your starters.
I am torn on this. I value the USOC more than most fans do and I wish it were taken more seriously than it is.
I dont want it to be detrimental to our quest for bigger things but I still want to give it some every, especially if we can get some home games.
I think the quarters would be a better time to give it our best effort.
I think that we should play our young attacking guys who don't see much time in the MLS season but have someone from the group of Teal, Kei, CJ or Zus to come of the bench and either create a chance or score on lesser teams if need be. Why the hell not go for it? I like trophies!
