Yup, the DC's are using one guy who normally doesn't play, we're playing one guy from our First XI.

    mis·match /mɪsˈmætʃ; for 2 also ˈmɪsˌmætʃ
–verb (used with object) 1. to match badly or unsuitably.

I got the lineups off MLSnet. Nothing's up on the US Open site yet.

Yeah, and I may be wrong, but how can our sub keeper be the guy that's on loan in Portland?

Maybe an emergency loan back since he probably won't play? I read somewhere that the Revs were going to use a pool MLS goalkeeper as a backup for tonight's game.

Why would they send him back on "emergency" status if he's not going to play? That doesn't make any sense, at least to me.

A pool keeper makes a little more sense (a very little), but even then, why bother when you could just dress Reis, especially if he's not getting in?

I think MLSnet probably just cut and pasted one of the old USOC lineups or something. That's the soundest explanation I can offer.

This pisses me off. I respect the USOC and I can take it seriously, but why does it even exist/why do we play in it if we field this kind of lineup?

Play hard and have fun, kids. Results don't matter.

Why make Albright travel and not start him? Why not even bring Tierney? Or a substitute striker?

This is disappointing, clearly no value has been placed on retaining the Cup.

Maybe it won't be so bad though. Fingers crossed.

    My thoughts too.

if you watched the pregame video featuring phelan and khano, it appears their content to lose to an mls side instead of risking losing to a usl side

We've gotten here without the first string, so why not let the kids keep playing. They've earned it.

Besides, Wells is in goal for DC. ;)

I thought we might use a pool keeper too, but bringing Knighton back for one game is not unprecedented. Before Knighton, the Timbers had FCD's Ray Burse, who frequently served as backup to Dario Sala because Josh Lambo got hurt.

In the last few games the original MatchTracker left out a sub or two. Hopefully there's one or two other guys they've forgotten to add and will show up later. Either way...this is DC's best lineup with their currently healthy personnel.

That's because we have hardware this year and DC doesn't.

Anyone else digging the techno intro. :D

they're playing a 4-5-1 with Thompson in the defense. Christman the lone striker.
