Just announced, USA will play Jamaica in KC in October.
Definitely gonna try to make it. Also gonna try to give my Jamaican coworker all kinds of crap until, during, and after this match.
I'm happy that it's official, but sad that the next step is dealing with Ticketmaster...
... with parking passes handed out at halftime, or next December. Whichever.
And this. I guess we are lucky we will actually get to USE our parking lot this time around.
Anyone know when tickets will go on sale?
The Guatemala game last year was October 16th. Tickets for that one went on sale to the general public in late July.
But who knows if that pattern will hold up.
I'd expect after the June qualifiers, maybe after the GC.
I wish I was a a STH so I could get first dibs. I guess I will have to wait until general public sale. Unless someone with season ticket wants to hook me up.
First "public" dibs will likely go to USSC members sold via TM.
So USSC will get dibs before season ticket holders? Just trying to clarify.
IIRC, the Guadeloupe match in the 2011 Gold Cup was included in the season ticket package. Since then, I'm very sure that for the 2012 Olympic Qualifying matches, and for the World Cup Qualifier last fall against Guatemala, the pre-sale for USSC members started three or four days earlier than the SKC STM pre-sale. I haven't seen any reason to think that will change now.
USSC will get first dibs, but there aren't many members, then STM, then AO and Visa cardholders, then general sale. That's how Seattle went at least if I remember correctly.
So, what is USSC? (Soccer Coaches??)
The US Soccer supporters group, an 'official' supporters group. They're the ppl that gotta go stand in the members section during open training last year.
United States Soccer Supporters Club, cost 55 dollars per year http://www.ussoccer.com/community/ussocccer-sc.aspx.
As long as AO gets an early shot, I'm happy. I would have paid the dues just for the neat t-shirt, but and early chance at USMNT tickets? Balls yeah.
Curious if anyone has any additional insights on the on-sale dates...
None yet, I'd guess closer to the Gold Cup, after the next 2 qualifiers are done.
Gonna see if a couple friends wanna go... I like the Jamaican NT (along with Belgium) too so it would be cool to see them both play, and add to that the fact that the USMNT could book their flights to Brazil that night would be even better.
How much did tickets cost for the qualifier last year? I imagine they will be even more this year and I am still in high school so I'm not so sure I would even be able to afford it without paying an arm and a leg
i seem to recall the cheapest tix (members' stand) being somewhere around $40. my bet is that they'll be priced similarly to the all-star game, where the cheapest ticket ends up being around $60.
Does anyone know the effective difference between being a member in AO and being a non member? I mean, the password for the WCQ isnt exactly a State Secret. Ticket price differential is $5 lesser for members. Are we just on the honor system here?
Wait, are they on sale now?
Yes - http://www.theamericanoutlaws.com/
I missed that announcement. Wow. Not that I was buying one at least. I was more just shocked since I figured it would be all over the internet (though me missing it doesn't mean much).
