There were a ton of people passing out flyers for that game at the USA-Mexico game in Houston. Was the Nigeria-Ecuador game supposed to be in Houston too?

I am in Houston and would loved to have gone to the game. With this sort of mismanagement, there is no way in hell Nigeria could organize a world cup. Not that it matters since Fifa will award 2010 to South Africa.

It was indeed a fiasco. But not all of it was Nigeria's fault.

The game was supposed to be on Sat., July 5, at Robertson Stadium. The announcement of Nigeria cancelling was very late - on Thurs, July 3.

Then on Fri, July 4, the promoters announce that San Salvador (a club from El Salvador) will replace Nigeria on Sat night. You could either use your tickets for that game or get a refund. So then some of us show up at Robertson on Sat night only to be handed out fliers saying that San Salvador couldn't make it and there would be no game at all.

Anyway, I got my refund, but the promoters, Omega Sports, ended up looking very bad.
