How is US Club Soccer determining its entry?

I see something on their site about National Adult Leagues, but as far as I can tell, they haven't played a game:

Elsewhere on their site, I learned that I've actually played in a U.S. Club Soccer league! I had no idea. The thought of my team playing in the Open Cup is really amusing to me.

US Club Soccer has not made a decision on their half entry into the 2012 US Open Cup. Would make sense if they awarded it to their national champion from last year, but that's just my suggestion.

Also, USASA has NINE entries and usually has 8 (2 from each of the 4 regions). Would make sense to me if they awarded the 9th spot to NY Pancyprian Freedoms (last year's USASA Open Cup national champion). Especially since they failed to qualify out of Eastern NY for 2012 (http://thecup.us/2012-us-open-cup-q...ncyprian-freedoms-to-regain-eastern-ny-crown/), which is arguably the toughest qualifying tournament in the USASA. Again, just my suggestion.
