It's live, after an unacceptable delay.

Um, this was added about 2.5 weeks ago.

An audio ad in Spanish popped up when I visited the Germany forum the other day. Maybe that's not a bug and intentional but humorous no less.

I was told the IE issue was fixed this morning. Please let me know.

And now my apology. Sorry I went MIA there. The devs were working on stuff and it took them longer than expected, and my life took me elsewhere. Hope these updates are helping.

Updates are valuable (at least to me). Just would like this intermittent edit issue to go away (on your long list I'm sure)...

I don't know what it is. I noted it to research tonight.

Is multi-quote something on the devs' agenda?

Personally, I've gotten used to the new "format".

It has been fixed. Network issues at work prevented me from commenting after I noticed it.

Can you kill all the section headers? Huge amounts of whitespace and unnecessary scrolling involved.

I've gone back to "Fixed" for now, it's the most tolerable for all my devices. Which raises another point - can your developers make the style choice device specific? Depending on where I am and what I'm doing, I might use one of three different PCs, a tablet, or my phone to read the site. Right now, Liquid is best for one, Fixed is best for two of them, and Mobile for other two. And I have to change it most of the time when changing devices.

Maybe set it using a cookie instead of linking it to my user account? Just throwing it out there...

Huss, I have explained this multiple times, but either I'm an idiot (which I am willing to accept) or no one is actually reading my posts on this subject.

When I click on Alerts in the top right, and then Show All, I see this:

So please, tell me -- since this functionality "was added about 2.5 weeks ago" -- how do I stop receiving alerts when someone posts a new thread in one of my watched forums, or when someone replies to a thread in one of my watched forums? I do not want to receive these alerts. I have looked and looked, and cannot find anything to click on that would make them cease.

    Where?

When I click on "My" up at the top, it just takes me to http://www.bigsoccer.com/community/watched/all, same as it has been for the past two months, which is NOT the same as the old MyBigSoccer functionality. In fact, clicking on "My" doesn't seem to do anything except redirect to the Forums tab.

Note that I have cleared my cookies and cache, and tried this on two browsers - Safari and Camino in OS X - with the same results.

Most annoyingly, every time I go to that forums page, it is dominated by links to the "World of Soccer", "Equipment & Gear", and "England" forums -- none of which I care anything about and would love to see disappear from my page. That was the whole point of MyBigSoccer -- to have links only to the things we cared about, in one simple, easy, clean, uncluttered location.

Also, I would like to be able to see everyone's info under their avatar when they post, without having to click on the little + on every single one. Is there a way to give us the option to "hide all" or "show all" for the user info on each post?

    For threads, not fora.

If you un-watch, then re-watch a forum you can chose to not get notifications of new threads in a forum.

OK, I tried this. I unwatched the Referee forum. I then clicked to Watch it again. This is the list of options I was presented with:

So I clicked No Alert, then clicked Watch Forum. I then went to my Watched Forums. This is what it looks like:

"New thread only via Email and alert" - what exactly does that mean? It doesn't sound like "No Alerts" to me. So time will tell, I guess, but it looks to me like I am still going to receive alerts when someone posts a new thread in the Referee forum, which is exactly what I do not want. We'll see...

I switched a few forums over to the "no alerts" setup, and haven't gotten alerts, even though looking at the watched forums list says it's going to send me alerts, so looks like it's just a bug in the watched forums list, not in the actual functionality from what I'm seeing here.

By the way, this picture is a perfect illustration of one reason why the Watched Forums is not a suitable alternative to the old My BigSoccer.

Take a look. That's a full screenshot on a 17" screen. How many links do you see to things that are of interest to me?

Three. On a whole page that is supposed to be the launching pad to forums that I am interested in.

    Three!

Too much white space. Too much gray space. Too many forum headers. Too much scrolling.

The old My BigSoccer had all of my watched forums neatly and tightly listed together, easily seen and easily accessible. I probably had at least 10-12 links on the main screen - usually the only thing I had to scroll down for was to see received rep.

If you don't understand why this is important to a large number of us, I don't know what else to say or do to convince you.

EDIT: Yes, the left nav tab does help a little. But once you've scrolled down a page - any page - the left nav is gone and you have to scroll all the way back up to the top to use it again. So it is only marginally helpful.

IOW, there is a lack of efficiency of space. I no longer use the left nav because of how inefficient it is (and how it overlaps at times) in terms of space.

Firstly, in the MY announcement thread the first thing I wrote is we will hide the unused categories. So there! :)

Is the cookie not remembering? It's supposed to set your preference open or closed.

This is a new page that didn't exist before yesterday, so you are incorrect, as you realized later in the thread. :)

Looks like it was solved by unsub and resub. I coulda sworn there was a link to just change it. My apologies.

I don't think so, even for individual users. For instance, if I expand (click on +) your info, navigate away, and come back to either this thread or elsewhere where you have posted, I only see the minimized info.

Absolutely agree. Big Soccer forums are just about unreadable ... I've just been avoiding the place completely. So much whitespace and greyspace everywhere. Good grief, could you make the fonts any bigger? And what's with putting the date/time stamp at the bottom of the post ...

The entire downgrade is a disaster. Just put it back the way it was.

Well, it's not going "back the way it was", but we can certainly suggest improvements.

Personally, I like the layout of the thread pages. I've gotten used to the date/time at the bottom of each post so that doesn't bother me. And I have my layout on fixed rather than liquid; I'm apparently somewhat unusual in that I like a fairly narrow reading column rather than to have text all the way across my horizontal widescreen.

The only two things I personally am still begging for are a cleaned up Watched Forums/MY BigSoccer page, and to have user miniprofiles permanently displayed on each post rather than to have to click the + on each one. Fixing the left nav tab to work with IE (on my work computer) would be nice, but it's not a dealbreaker since if the nav cannot move with me as I scroll down, it is of dubious value anyway.

By the way, I unwatched and then rewatched each of the subfoums in my Watched Forums list, and I am no longer receiving any alerts. Thumbs up!
