Skills are not Bendy's problems, it's the bent neurons upstairs. The guy is just weird. I'd even guess that he has some sociopathic tendencies. When's the last time 1) a player at Arsenal vandalized cars 2) dumped his mega-rich wife 5 minutes after becoming a father 3) advertised himself as the next great superstriker and then managed to be crap playing for Sunderland 4) sat in his underwear on the side of the road after totalling his Aston Martin 5) got headbutted by Ade in a live game (could anything be more humiliating?!) 6) felt more loyalty to Sunderland than Arsenal after growing up at Arsenal, and showed this by being very happy that Sunderland knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup? 7) got arrested like 3 times in 4 months after leaving Arsenal's protective lair? the signs are all there and I have to say Bendtner is simply crackers, a real headcase.
Not really, he never was that good of a finisher and needs 10 good crosses lobbied to him before he can score a header. And often his touches were dreadful (remember Barca?) and he's also prone to be selfish and not make good decisions for the team. So he never was going to be good enough to be a Van Persie for us.
According to the Koln express, the Podolski transfer to Arsenal is finalized and should be announced on Monday. http://www.express.de/fc-koeln/wech...illionen-euro-in-die-kasse,3192,11920848.html
he's also said this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2116293/Lukas-Podolski-snub-Arsenal-Lazio.html
This just in: don't trust transfer confirmations until they're on Arsenal.com. Though these days, even that might be getting hacked.
I hated St. Nicklas as much as the next guy. The guy was an awful finisher, but his on-field performance isn't indicative. It takes time for strikers to settle and the quality of your teammates matters. Even RVP, gasp, can't turn lead into gold at Sunderland. But Bendtner couldn't turn lead into lead here either. Strikers are head cases. Some need to play regularly to get their goals flowing and some need the unquestioned love of their manager and/or fan base to score regularly. Some make you smack your head like Theo, but most need a mixture of the above to play at their best. So to say Chamakh is awful, is not entirely accurate. We've seen "plain awful" and he's not it.
Apparently those quotes are from last summer. Of course it doesnt mean he's going to sign, but I think the ones suggesting he might are more reliable than those saying he's off to Lazio
kevin campbell rates worse than chamakh and in the same league as kiwomya? are you on drugs? while not exactly a superstar, campbell contributed. he was a goal in less than every 4 games player. there's a reason he played 224 games for arsenal.
Chamakh is awful - his first touch is weak, he's missed an open net on many occasions, he doesn't pass well, and his movement is less intelligent than that of a headless chicken. While Bendtner's admittedly a poor finisher, his movement isn't awful, and some of his one touch play has been exquisite. He's not a terrible player, just not Arsenal-quality.
the Park story gets weird http://news.arseblog.com/2012/03/parks-lawyer-reveals-ongoing-arsenal-monaco-talks/
Albert had a secret mancrush on Park while he was in Monaco. hmmm Furthermore, have these behind the scenes talks had an impact on Park’s first team opportunities? At the moment it is not clear, although you can’t help but think someone will ask the question of the boss soon…
Dzeko and Pjanic are the only way I can strike up conversation with the Bosnian driver I get almost every time I cab home from Burlington.
