I didn't really think about that because 3, in theory doesn't sound like a lot but now that you mention it, they are back to back to back. Damn, that's kind of a bummer. They should be more spread it out. At least Israel will have the option to rotate players.

EL SALVADOR TO TAKE ON NEW ZEALAND FOR INTERNATIONAL MATCH UP AT BBVA COMPASS STADIUM
Planet Futbol Presents Second International Soccer Event at Houston’s Newest Downtown Stadium on Wednesday, May 23, 2012
HOUSTON (April XX, 2012)—The national teams of El Salvador and New Zealand will face off on Wednesday, May 23 in the second international soccer match to be held at BBVA Compass Stadium (www.bbvacompassstadium.com), Houston’s newest downtown stadium and home to the Houston Dynamo. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m.

“BBVA Compass Stadium is proud to be the venue for this fantastic game featuring two great international teams,” said BBVA Compass Stadium General Manager Doug Hall. “We look forward to creating an authentic fan experience and welcoming first-time guests to the facility.”

Tickets will start at $30 and be available beginning Monday, April 30 at select Fiesta locations and online at www.bbvacompassstadium.com or www.axs.com.

“We are excited to bring another international soccer event to Houston and are looking forward to hosting this event at BBVA Compass Stadium,” said Eduardo Beltramini, Planet Futbol President and General Manager. “The teams are looking forward to the match up as well as being some of the first people, aside from the Houston Dynamo, to play in this beautiful new building. This game will be a treat for both the players and the fans.”
El Salvador has made two FIFA World Cup appearances: first in 1970 and again in 1982, but have never progressed beyond the first group stage of a finals tournament. They were the 1943 CONCACAF champions, and finished in second place in the 1941 and 1961 championships. They have competed in the CONCACAF regional tournaments 13 times, finishing as runners-up in 1963 and 1981. La Selecta also competes in the biennial UNCAF Nations Cup, the Pan American Games, the Olympics, and have achieved two gold medals in the Central American and Caribbean Games.
The New Zealand All Whites have played in two FIFA World Cup tournaments (Spain 1982 and South Africa 2010) since their national soccer federation was founded in 1904. Their dramatic qualification to the 2010 FIFA World Cup over Bahrein earned the All Whites recognition at New Zealand’s annual sports awards, the Halberg Awards, with the Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Sporting Moment and the overall Supreme Halberg award. New Zealand has competed in Oceania’s flagship tournament, the OFC Nations Cup, since its inception in 1973. They have won the tournament in 1973, 1998, 2002 and 2008. The last three of those victories qualified the All Whites for the FIFA Confederations Cup in Mexico (1999), France (2003) and South Africa (2009).

That's great! Glad we can see the games on tv. TVBIZ do you know if the ES vs CR will be on payperview here in the states? Circuito Cerrado is awful, poor production in my opinion and not worth going to see it at a restaurant.

Since I am Australian-Salvadoran and the A-league is pretty much where most of these player play...I can tell that their a few players tow atch for example, shane smeltz is a very good striker if you fall asleep or give him half a possession he wil punish you, Kosta is a very strong striker plays in the same club as Zelaya and very good at linking up players, leo Bartos is a crafty player he will set up many opportunities for the striker

It's incredible how El Salvador, a tiny country in Central America has scouts all over the world...BKR inc, in Australia! When the world cup comes around I hope our brothers in Italy, England etc come out. The match against NZ should be our toughest match since I can rmb asides from our CONCACAF regulars. This game should show what La Selecta is made of.

Chyeah mate, I'm looking forward to this game; I finally will get to see how well the Salvadorans go up against our A-League (9 players are A-League players and yes Wellington Pheonix is the only Kiwi team in the league. Plus Kosta vs. Fito will be nice to watch!

The A-League is still pretty weak IMO, I don't go to watch Melbourne Victory anymore (Last game I went to was the first ever Victory vs. Heart derby, which was 2 years ago!), but it's gotten a bit better.. nevertheless can't wait for this game!

LOL! that's what the All Blacks (rugby team) does before each game, whereas Australia just stands and sings the national anthem. I know this is a tad off-topic but I've always wondered, does USA have a rugby team? pretty sure NFL & rugby are quite similar, except rugby players don't wear all that protective gear and helmets like the NFL players..

2nd day of training in Houston. El profe Israel tried out a different formation; Benji, Xavi, Molina, Turcios, Pacheco, D. Alas, Figueroa, Osael, J.Alas, Bonnilla and Burgos.

Update on Alvarez who was thought to be injured yesterday during training. He was diagnosed with thigh muscle exhaustion. He's on the sidelines for now with the medical staff and will be going for more examinations.
