So, for the 17 November date. USA in South Africa. And clashes in the CONCACAF light-heavyweight division. Haiti goes to Qatar. I'd like to see Haiti do CONCACAF proud.

    RSA v. USA
    Panama v. Honduras
    Jamaica v. Costa Rica
    Guyana v. Guatemala
    Qatar v. Haiti

Of course, Caribbean Nations Cup continues later in the month with group play.
Group H: T&T, Cuba, Martinique, Grenada
Group I: Jamaica, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda

I think that is it for November.

    RSA 0: USA 1.

Haven't been able to find a score on Qatar v. Haiti, though I'm assuming they played it right after Brazil/Argentina.

USA lineup: Guzan; Lichaj, Goodson, Ream, Bornstein; Bedoya, Pause, Carroll, Rogers; Gaven; Findley.

Subs: Bunbury for Findely (halftime), Spector for Bornstein (Halftime), Agudelo for Rogers, Diskerud for Bedoya, Borchers for Ream, Agbossoumonde for Goodson.

    Goal: Agudelo (Diskerud) 85'.
    --------------------

    Other scores:
    RSA 0: USA 1
    Jamaica 0: Costa Rica 0
    Panama 2: Honduras 0
    Guyana 0: Guatemala 3

No clue yet on the Qatar/Haiti game.

Guatemala proving they are ranked too low in CONCACAF, and maybe Guyana too high. Panama makes a nice statement at home against Honduras. Jamaica & Costa Rica end scoreless, and the young Yanks steal one late in Cape Town.

So far, a good night for Central America (2-1-0) and CONCACAF is 1-0-0 in inter-confederation matches. I think everyone with a heart will be rooting for Haiti to beat Qatar. Talk about haves vs. have-nots. But having the match was a good thing.

    EDIT: Qatar/Haiti pushed to Thursday.

    Qatar 0: Haiti 1.

Way to go Haiti! They are currently more highly ranked (101 vs. 113), but still won away from home.

CONCACAF was 2-0-0 in inter-confederation tilts this break. Both wins were on the road (vs. Africa and Asia), albeit vs. lower ranked teams.

I can find no evidence that this game ever happened.

Oh, by the way, for those ragging on Qatar for losing to Haiti 1-0 at home, 12 years before they host the World Cup, check out some results for the good ole' USA from 1982:

Oops, I was hoping for some gems, but there aren't that many.

The USA only played 1 match in 1982, a 2-1 win over T&T away.

Yes, that match was on the 28th, Does anybody know what happened to Panama's proposed friendly with Chile before the Central American Nations Cup? They originally announced it for 'early January', but I've not seen any confirmation yet.

Hey, im here in el salvador on vacation since december. i'm actually very happy that this game will go on while im here.i'm staying less then 3 mns away from cuscatlan stadium.

theres a 2 for 1 ticket offer from the salvi federation for this particular match.

i think haiti is a worthy rival, especially after beating qatar at their turf.

Here's all I could find on CONCACAF action, I also listed the FIFA, and then ELO ranking for each team.

    February 8th
    Peru (68, 52) v. Panama (60, 60)

    February 9th
    Greece (10, 28) v. Canada (80, 58)
    Mexico (27, 11) v. Bosnia-Herzegovina (42, 54)
    Honduras (39, T34) v. Ecuador (54, T34)
    Venezuela (63, 37) v. Costa Rica (48, 43)
    El Salvador (98, 95) v. Haiti (96, 104)

ELO likes Venezuela (+26), Canada (+22), Ecuador (+20), Mexico (+16), and Peru (+16) a lot better. In terms of ELO, the home team has the higher ranking in every match, except Honduras v. Ecuador, who are tied. Therefore, every home team should win.

A little more complicated by FIFA, who like Greece (+18) and Bosnia-Herzegovina (+12) a lot better than ELO. FIFA ranks three visitors higher: Panama (60) at Peru (68), Haiti (96) at El Salvador (98), and Costa Rica (48) at Venezuela (63). All three are pretty close, especially the first two, and I don't know if the small rankings difference would be enough to overcome home field.

Still, some interesting match-ups for CONCACAF, three matchups of Central America vs. the lower half of CONMEBOL: Panama visits Peru today while tomorrow Honduras hosts Ecuador and Costa Rica travels to Venezuela. Going to CONMEBOL away is always tough, but the Central American teams have played recently, so hopefully that will help.

Two infrequent CONCACAF v. UEFA matchups, with Mexico "hosting" Bosnia-Herzegovina in Atlanta, and Canada traveling to Greece.

The other matchup has El Salvador hosting Haiti. We'll see if the Caribbean teams are overrated or not. Haiti did beat Qatar away recently, but El Salvador have been in action more recently, in Copa CentralAmerica.

Let me know if I missed any. Any more news/call-ups/squads welcome. And of course, Egypt v. USA canceled.

Some Caribbean nations are overrated because they "earned" their current ranking over Guatemala by just beating other Caribbean nations. When Surinam, A&B, Guyana beat someone outside of the Caribbean let me know because its been a couple of years now, where as Guatemala recently beat the Guyana despite their on the money ranking.

Greece 1: Canada 0. Don't know anything more.

Well, two 1-0 losses on the road isn't horrible. Greece had to favored against Canada at home, at pretty heavily. I'd imagine Peru was also favored at home to Panama. Still, if you switched the venues, I think we could have gotten results out of both matches.

I think Mexico and Honduras will win, and I hope Costa Rica can get a draw. I like El Salvador at home. That is a tough place to play, though I doubt they'll be as fired up for Haiti as they get in WCQ.

    Well, Mexico over Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-0.

Costa Rica draws 2-2 @Venezuela, and had a 2-1 lead.

Honduras is currently tied 1-1 with Ecuador. If they can pull it out, CONCACAF will be .500 for yesterday and today. Not too shabby, especially with more games on the road.
