Technically, it is not your opponent's RPI that helps or hurts. It is their won-loss record.

This one is from the 2010 MPSF semi-final match @ Sac State and granted it is a bit lighter than last weekend's example, but I thought I would share anyways. I actually posted this many months ago, but thought that is was apropos to this discussion.

Its okay- we already got rid of "ESPOLA" after he realized his tail was between his legs... "Touchline" has nothing better to do now that his Bakersfield squad is on the outside looking in on the tournament since they haven't beat any good teams at all... All he has left to do is criticize a program that is keeping his team home in November for the second straight year.

Maryland lost. No video and gametracker has crapped out but twitter tells me Lobos up 1-0 with 20 to go in 1st half (either Kafari or Green with blast from distance depending on who you follow)

Life on the road - ugh

Lobos with another shutout. 2-0 over Sac St. at home. 14-0-2 and San Jose St. Sunday.

Edit: Oh, and holy shit, they committed 7 fouls tonight and had 2 yellows. Get the video...

With last nights win the Lobos clinch the regular season conference title and #1 seed in tournament with two games to spare. Wonder how tempted Fish will be to extend his bench versus San Jose St and UNLV at home tomorrow and next Saturday with conference tournament 2 weeks from now

    Balancing competing priorities...

I was always good with Victor and glad he's getting it done along with very talented and well organized defense. Some numbers after 17 games:

    38/9 goals for/against
    9 shutouts
Allowed 2 goals one time (Denver)

    Lists & Rankings:

    NSCAA - 1

    Soccer America - 1

UNLV Saturday night. Senior night recognizing 4 year starters Lance Rozeboom and Mike Green. The city has taken notice and is getting excited as the last weekends' attendance numbers show (about 8k combined in two matches). Be nice to see 5000+ Saturday and the home tournament games.

Unfortunately, there is also a basketball game that evening, so attendance may suffer Saturday. I'm gonna skip the pointless basketball game to see the seniors out on their night.

Headed over to UNM Soccer Complex in about an hour to watch the Lobos celebrate the careers of two fantastic four year starters, Michael Green and Lance Rozeboom, and attempt to complete an unbeaten regular season against UNLV.

It's partly cloudy and about 49F at the house now and will be in the 30s by the time the game ends so layers are called for.

Really proud of these guys no matter what happens tonight, next weekend in Denver and in the NCAA tournament.

I'll live tweet at https://twitter.com/#!/tolstoyabq and try to drop an entry in here every once in awhile.
