No I think what greatscott posted, and despite the tweet I posted, that the game is at PPL Park, and potentially their next home game too if NY advance? So game is in Philly Wednesday? Edit: I'm an idiot; I just saw Big East and thought it meant East playoffs, not the college conference.
i just want to make sure i am wrapping my head around this correctly: Wednesday: Enough resources to host a MLS Playoffs game. Saturday/Sunday: Not enough resources to host some college games.
Yes would have a been a doubleheader on Friday, and the final on Sunday. Not in RBA MLS playoff game Wednesday and potentially Saturday. In RBA
PATH has resumed limited service, but only between Midtown and Journal Square. http://www.panynj.gov/path/ No service to WTC or to Harrison and Newark.
Note - there's going to be a minute of silence for a RBNY fan who died last weekend. His name was Bill Schoop and he was only 34 years old. 12th minute (from 11:00 - 11:59) in honor of the 12th man. RIP
Just so no one gets confused, PATH is useless if you're trying to get to the stadium from the city. The only way from the city right now is Amtrak or NJ Transit to Newark Penn Station and then a 20 minute walk. I'm thinking about driving, if I can get gas; PM me if you need a ride.
Yes, thanks for clarifying. The Journal Square station is not at all close to RBA - it's a good five miles away.
Well slap my thigh and call me Judy. I really thought the game would be moved or held a different day.
Didnt mean to cause confusion with that Goff tweet. Definitely about College sports and not MLS. Just thought it was interesting.
Based upon previous years, it won't be a big crowd at the Big East. I would expect under normal conditions to be between 1,000 and 2,000.
Oh! Try Summer's Restaurant in Arlington. It's even right by a metro stop if I remember correctly. At least, there used to be a bunch of people who went there for United games. (It's been a few years for me...like, 12.
I haven't been in years. Johnny was the man back in the day. I think the SE's have a watch party at Ri Ra's in Claredon, but my memory could be going.
the match won't be so bad - but the drive up is getting a little nastier and the drive back is getting WAY nastier. 10 buses of DC fans on the Turnpike 10 buses of DC fans Spin one out into a festering Jersey runoff ditch 9 buses of DCU fans on the Turnpike ..... everybody sing...... okay don't, I have to work on the cadence a bit
Summers is AWFUL these days. Ri Ra in Clarendon is in fact where the SE watch parties *usually* are, but I haven't seen an email about today yet. Doesn't mean it's not happening though.
