And an SUV. (We'd take the bus, but boarding at White Marsh means we'd have to leave work an hour earlier, and it would get us home an hour later after the game...)
Reminder - if you are driving up - FILL UP WITH GAS BEFORE YOU LEAVE do not expect to buy gas in Jersey, even the turnpike has high prices and rolling shortages. Stick to the gas you'll get from the Roy Rogers at the rest area instead!
So, Najar is out. Backe has already said Cooper would start and LeToux would sit. It seemed like Rafa Marquez and Backe got in a spat; hunch is that Rafa will not play. Nothing's going right for DC. On the bright side, Conde has finally been kicked out of the country.
How could they move the game to Saturday when the first leg of the Eastern Conference Finals are supposed to be played then?
Delay it by three days, play it the next Wednesday. There are at least 10 days between the finals and MLS Cup, a 3 delay is not unreasonable. I realize the logistic and ticket sales challenge, but that's a secondary concern.
As a weather nerd, I'm starting to get pretty concerned about the conditions for a game and for the supporters (in NJ and those who travel up). Guess we'll know more tomorrow, but right now, it's looking like they're gonna get a crapload of snow somewhere in NJ.
that does explain why Garber and the redbull-causes-cancer douches are willing to have so many buses full of United fans on I-95 and the Turnpike
Didn't someone call Geiger to officiate one of these matches? If so, you got your wish, motherfucker.
GOD DAMN IT. What did I tell you people?!? Paging JayRockers! JayRockers!, please report to face punching booth.
We're f*cked now. That arschloch hasn't called one thing in United's favor, all season long - maybe including last season, too.
Why all the hate for Geiger? Was he the shitbird that gave Twellman the penalty on a dive in extra time?
In 2009, he was publicly called out by Tamberino, in Week in Review articles published by the Competition Committee on mlsnet, for decisions in five separate DC United games that directly cost DC a full 9 points (game winning or tying goals that should or should not have been given). The first of the bunch was that game in LA when a handball in the box was called against us when the ball came off the lower thigh, and another LA goal was allowed to stand despite two DC players being on the ground inside the box for over ten seconds with quite bloody head wounds while Geiger allowed fighting for the loose ball to go on in the box around the bodies. That doesn't necessarily mean that we absolutely would have secured all those points if the goal decisions had been made correctly; but we missed the playoffs by one point. So, yeah, I don't like Mark Geiger.
Hey, I was just trying to point out additional ways that they were out to screw us, along with the taking away of our home field advantage. Looks like the Marrufo appointment (two United games in a row) was part of the screwjob as well. It was against past MLS guidelines, but the USSF hasn't always abided by those guidelines in the past, either. Looking back on it, I wonder if there were any "issues" during the Chicago game that may have gotten under Jair's skin? All I have to say is this: If there's a penalty by DC and an NY player encroaches on a good PK and it's not called... Thx, Jay!
