    game 3, the Philly Invasion.

    Fred and Peter

Is this going to be ugly, or will United get back on track?

I know it is early days, but this could tell us if we'll be really bad...or just mediocre.

All I know is Piotr Nowak is a meat-eater.

I'm not ready to throw Onalfo under the bus, but I hope our guys know the coach for the other team isn't some wimp, and won't tolerate players who are.

They'll be out for the 3 points.

Is it too early in the season for Mora?

Not only do I just hope we can win a game...at this point I'd just like a goal, please.

I say: Go 4-5-1; Defense first, be opportunistic to score. Jaime as 60th minute "super-sub".

    Talley---Pena--Jackovic--Wallace
    --------Barklage--Morsink--------
    Pontius----Quaranta----Castillo

Re: pre match thread United V Union April 10th

I think New England sat back and absorbed D.C.'s pressure this weekend. Against Seattle, Philly battled for every ball around midfield. I don't think United will enjoy as much possession this game and unless there are changes made up top, I am afraid that D.C. will finish with two shots on goal again. My only hesitation about not starting Jaime is wondering, "Who, then, steps into a leadership role?"

I'm heading up to Philly, but I can't remember being less enthused about a road trip to a DCU game.

Doesn't Andrew Jacobson count? What about Josh Gros?

Cripes, it's like the Union are becoming DCU-North. ;)

I saw the same thing, but I think that while New England has been like that for a long, long time, Philly will break down eventually if we keep up the pressure that we had on NE in the first half of Saturday's game. NE feeds off of that stuff, and I think Philly will just get frustrated and start hacking away. Remember too, they're one of, if not THE, youngest teams in the league.

It would be a nice nod to tradition.

DCU's first-ever goal was an own goal.

That is what is printed on the back of DC United uniforms. I guess DCU has to follow tradition. :(

what frightens me about this match, is that it may be the litmus test for determining who is the worst team in the league...

Not to worry; you can't possibly be worse than San Jose.
