Perkins - 6.5 Great positioning and decisionmaking, so-so distribution. So, kind of like Rimando with lifts.
Namoff - 5.0 Good defending, sh!tty giveaways. I want the old Brian back.
Boswell - 7.0 Defense tightened up after about 10 minutes. Besides that, I don't know what else he really could have done to prove that he belongs on the field.
Wilson - 5.0 Decent defending, decent attacking, sh!tty passing and decisionmaking. Show me more John. We have depth now.
Gros - 6.0 A typical Gros game--hard worked, hard played, hard tackled. A little luck and he'd pad his goal sheet a bit.
Simms - 6.5 Constantly in possession. Thought he had a solid game--I trust him out there now consistently.
Carroll - 7.0 Bruce needs to call up more United players if it makes them play this good.
Gomez - 7.0 What a foot. For Gomez do I absolve Hudson of most of his crimes.
Kovalenko - 5.5 Wasn't much in the mix tonight, but no major screw-ups.
Moreno - 5.5 Hard to tell after he got hurt, but made a few good plays before that.
Adu - 7.0 Here's hoping those flashes of brilliance turn into a steady light.

Walker - 7.0 Rocked the house. Am I the only one who's really digging on this guy?
Olsen - 6.5 Got it done. Class act all the way.
Prideaux - NR Not a great deal of time, did his job well. Still, needs to delete the word "offense" out of his vocabulary.

Perkins- 6.5 A little tentative at first then played very well.
Namoff- 5.5 Worse than normal but did nothing damaging.
    Boswell- 6.5 Bozilla!
Wilson- 5.5 No PK there and otherwise did good esp. in covering in the first half
    Gros- 6 Quiet but effective.
    Simms- 7 SOLID
    Carroll- 6.5 SOLID, PART 2
Gomez- 7.5 Beaut of a goal. Also the assist for Fred's goal was almost as spectacular as Fred's goal.
    Kovalenko- 6 Quiet.
    Moreno- 6
Adu- 7.5 Spectacular after a quiet first half

    Walker- 7 Supersub
    Olsen- 6.5
    Prideaux- 6

Does that mean he played like your hand? Ok for a goalie, but----

    Perkins 6 - Solid.

Namoff 5 - I am liking him in midfield.

*Boswell 7 (Bozilla): "Thamlin19... I'm coming to get YOU!"

*Wilson 5 : "It's like someone invites you to a party and you don't show up. It doesn't really matter."

Gros 6 - he is working real hard on the right side..his crosses are starting to hit his targets!

Simms 6 - 1st half passes were kinda of scary.

Carroll 6 - Working hard for the money...so hard for..((eek)).

*Gomez 7 : "I want, what they want, and every other guy who came over here and spilt his guts and gave everything he had, wants! For our Fans to love us as much as we love Them! That's what I want!"

*Kovalenko 5 : "Pressure? Let me just say that DEMA is the best combat vet I've ever seen. A pure fighting machine with only a desire - to win a war that someone else lost. And if winning means he has to die - he'll die. No fear, no regrets. And one more thing, what you choose to call hell, he calls home."

*Moreno 6 : "Mission... accomplished. You know there's more goals out there and you know where they are. Find'em. Or I'll find you."

*Adu 8 : "Wolf den this lone wolf, over."

*Walker 7 : "Prepare for emergency landing, arriving with D.C. assists."

*Olsen 6 : "Olsen, this is Murdock, we're glad you're alive. Where are ya? Give us your position and we'll come to pick you up!"

Prideaux 5 - Came in and gave us an extra "D" to keep their forwards mute.

    * Are all Rambo II edited quotes for your pleasure.. ;)

Murdock: "And if I were you... I'd never make the mistake of bringing this subject up again."

Trautman: "Oh you're the one who's making the mistake."

    Murdock: "Yeah? What mistake?"

    Trautman:........... "~Worm~"

Fred's goal was pretty much unassisted. Are you referring to his assist on Bowsell's header goal off of Gomez's free kick?

Perkins - 5. He was REALLY shaky until about the 30th minute or so.
Namoff - 5.5. Pretty much average
    Boswell - 6. So that's 3 goals for and 3 goals against. :D
Wilson - 6. That PK call was utter crap.
Gros - 6.5. Does he ever get tired?
    Simms - 6. Solid.
Carroll - 6.5. Showed everyone why Bruce called him into camp.
Gomez - 7. I think that ball might've gone in without Boswell's help.
Kovalenko - 5.5. Not a great game, but not a bad one either.
Moreno - 6.5. The league is probably going to screw him over again. He deserves MVP.
Adu - 7.5. That was one of the most incredible goals I've ever seen.

    Walker - 7.
    Olsen - 6.
    Prideaux - 6.

Perkins - 4 first half sucked, second half was fine
    Namoff - 5
Boswell - 6 - solid game, showed he's still dangerous on set pieces
Wilson - 4 - was crap even without giving up the crap penalty
Gros - 6 - had a poor spell midseason, but he's back to being the good Gros again
Simms - 6 - sometimes seems to wait too long to make decisions, but has enough skill to bail himself out
Carroll - 7 - he's been a rock since playing poorly in the first Catolica match
Gomez - 7 - beat the RSL defense like a drum
    Kovalenko - 5
    Moreno - 5
Adu - 7 - some bad, lots of good, incredible goal.

Walker - 7 - continues to be an impact sub
    Olsen - NR
    Prideaux - NR

Nowak goes with some fresh, speedy players on the Turf- a good idea

Perkins - 6 excellent first half, gotta look out he doesn't give up a penalty
    Namoff - 5
Boswell - 5 he's great with his head on set pieces, Tarley got past him a couple times
    Wilson - 5
    Gros - 5
Simms - 6 good ball winning, mostly good passing
    Carroll - 5
Gomez - 5 nice finish, otherwise quietish
    Kovalenko - 5
Moreno - 4 some good stuff, some walking, then got hurt
Adu - 6 can change a game in a minute, but also had giveaways. and WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT SHOT? the lame duck attempt to chip the keeper- his head hadn't decided what to do but his leg went ahead anyway :)

Walker - 5 nice assist. good passing. second good game in a row, whereas the old jamil couldn't pass or combine whatsoever- where have they stashed the old jamil??
Olsen - NR and a good thing as he came on more to waste time, disrupt momentum, and be a general pain, than to play soccer
Prideaux - NR has decided to dribble more, didn't know he could

I didn't see the game, but saw Freddy's goal. You guys are spoiled. You're giving him 7s and 7.5s?!?!

That goal itself gets him a 9.5 in my book. If he scored that goal in a major European league he'd be player of the month and orgasms would be had by all.

I agree, but I doubt Nelson Akwari would make it as a defender in a major european league.

No wonder football is so popular over there...

No, I know what Ursula was talking about...take a look at the pass that got the ball to Freddy. I was wondering who that masked man was...Gomez...of course!

The ball comes back to Gomez on the right wing at the halfway line. Two defenders in front of him closing him down. He knows where Freddy is, and, with one touch with his right foot, sends a through ball to his left on a high trajectory directly to Freddy in the middle of the field (I've watched it enough that it's burned into my synapses).

Freddy does the rest. Granted it isn't an assist...but what a beautiful pass illustrating not just skill, but also an incredible eye for the game.

In terms of the team's passing, those two goals, a couple of minutes apart, were truely spectacular.

As we've all said...I love this team. We do play the beautiful game.

If he scored that goal in a major European league, he'd have scored it against defenders who were a hell of a lot better, thus meriting a higher score. A 9.5 in a major European league is the game of one's life. Freddy was good last night, but it wasn't the game of his life.

Good point. Still, that was one sick goal. And his pass to the wing that lead to Gomez's goal wasn't half bad either. He's getting better!

<shrug> I dunno, I've never given anyone higher than an 8. It's all subjective, especially when you're talking about two people giving a very positive rating, only differing in just how very positive. It's the disputes between someone who thinks a player deserves a 6 and another who thinks the same player deserves a 3.5 that are interesting to me.

Understood. I agree to agree that young Freddy's goal was awesome and he deserved a high rating.

DC has been playing some quality ball recently, including the loss in Chile (shoot Ben! shoot Dema! I'm not one of those interested in moral victories either). There could be a 5th Star added in Frisco.
