It might have hit him also, hard to tell from the angle. The elbow clearly strikes though, and that's why when he was walking off the field he was asking about his right tooth being chipped (the elbow hit the right side).
2 peaches of crosses have been played into the box by De Leon and Franklin and EJ was standing between the penalty spot and 18 yard box. He buries both of them in his Seattle days. Does he want to score?
What I noticed about the goal was DeLeon seeing and choosing to ignore EJ in favor of Espy and EJ seeming to have no reaction to the goal.
We're still giving up a bit too much possession for my tastes, but we're not giving up cheap looks at goal (so far), so it's not nearly as stress inducing as last week.
Facts: - we've improved every game - the team is gelling - espy can score - our defense is strong (0 goals last 5 halfs) - everyone calling for olsen's head 2 games into the season should admit they were emotion over logic
As a UVA alum, I love Benny, but I can't say I agree that it was over emotional for people to have called for his head early in the season. It was not just based on those two games, but the entirety of his head coaching career. There really wasn't any indication that things were going to start turning around. Plus, if we crumble in the second half of this game, the last two will really feel like more of a fluke than a turn-around. Still a lot to prove.
Yeah, those are all good points. It's not like he didn't have a "body of work" prior to the first two games of the season.
I think most people saw the first two games of the season as the continuation of the disaster of last season.
