Once again we are seeing politics getting the better of soccer. I know this is a very narrow minded view but from the UAE teams point of view- the Abu Musa island tensions are running high, and any team having Iranian players will be seen as unpatriotic and will loose out on local fans and probably even sponsorship. This will most likely be a wake-up call for Iranian players to start playing for more competitive leagues instead; seriously I know the UAE league pays good and is pretty rich but its a frikken joke.

Good idea. The league needs to be promoted, it's part of the re-branding efforts led by the UAEFA. I'll create a thread for the league when I get the chance.
