Mo playing well enough to get the call-up is far preferable to him playing poorly and being ignored.

But with 19 MLS players called up for this friendly, there are plenty of other teams who may/will be affected.

Good for Edu. It would nice to have a Union player at the World Cup that didn't leave this team on loan. That being said, I am typically a club vs country guy. It will suck not having him here, but at least it can force Hack into using a 4-4-2.

I just want my team that I pay to see to be good, and keon to be planted firmly in shrimpadelphia. This threatens both those principles.

Agreed. I like it even less when it's for a friendly.

I'd have loved for Williams to get a look (especially since Yedlin got a call) but that knock he picked up in Orlando pretty much killed that chance. I just hope he's ready for Chicago.

I think I'm in the minority here, but I am a country-over-club supporter. So, I suppose I don't mind this much. However, if Edu never sniffs the pitch then I'll have a small grievance about the fact that he could have been playing and helping the Union instead.

Will he miss any time? The Union website says he won't leave until Sunday, after the Impact game. If he plays 30 min or a half on Wednesday, couldn't we assume that he would be ready to go again the following weekend?

Yes. I think that is a good assumption. There is coast to coast travel involved but I would think that Mo still plays against Chicago on 4/5 as long as he doesn't get a knock. Starting 4/12, there are 3 games in 8 days but minimal travel (PPL-NYRB-PPL).

the whole reason he is here is to get looks for the USMNT. if we want him here contributing, we have to take the good with the bad (and the bad is certainly a relative term here)

Which is really odd since he is on loan to the Union from Stole City.

Ooops. But, I do think they stole Brek Shea's ability to get consistent playing time.

Which might impact the amount of playing time he gets on the National Team.

So, does that make it an international typo?

Some of you people b!tching about losing Edu need to get a grip.
He has a real shot to go into camp and take Jermaine Jones' job from him based off of how Jones has played the last year and a half.
The World Cup is every four years, the Union play every year.
