did anyone notice the new ss replicas and long sleeve authentics are on sale on pretty much every website? the reps are only 56 and the ls auth are 90 (oddly, the ss auth. is normal price). wondering if the sales just sucked, or if there is any possible way they are gonna tweak em for next year. i i know they have to wait 2 years for a new kit, but i wonder what the rules are for slight changes.
http://www.onionbag.com/philadelphia-union-732.aspx Philadelphia Union replica jerseys have been marked down! Replica home jersey which was $71.95 down to to $54.95!
I'm guessing sales. Although I know it might be hard to believe that the tops for the second to last place team are not the hottest commodity.
Well I got my Union jersey from soccer.com! I had a 10 gift card so I got a home replica for a little under 50 dollars! I will be pissed if they got a new sponsor or something that will change the kit.
I'll bet that they over ordered given the fact the Union were a hot seller the last two years. I don't think the fan base has been as keen on buying new gear. I have held off on current shirts, for instance, because I like to get players numbers on my shirts and I have no real interest in getting a player who'd be shown the door. I almost got an authentic Califf away the week before he was named as a sub. I'm glad I thought better of it.
thinking about grabbing a LS. that price gets you free shipping on soccer.com., so that saves like 30+ bucks. the replica is a good deal, but if you have to pay for shipping, its only a few bucks. soccer.com, worldsoccershop.com and, even mlsgear.com has all the same union stuff on sale. The white training top is also marked to 39.99, and the presentation jacket is down to 60 something. only place the stuff isnt on sale is the official union angelfire/geocities website store, but they are stll looking for full price on califf and mwanga gear
I never get players names on kits for that specific reason (and that was even before the Nowak saga of 2012).
for some reason, back in 95, warner brothers evidently bought a domain for the movie "space jam" for something like, 500 years. hilariously, this website is still up and available to this day. a little less hilarious is that it may be better put together than the union store. the philadelphia union, only slightly behind the technology of 1995. http://www2.warnerbros.com/spacejam/movie/jam.htm
Yeah I can see that POV. The shirt seems incomplete to me otherwise, but now I'm stuck with LeToux and Califf shirts I may never wear again.
Maybe I would get a kit witha name 10 years down the line when the Union has won 3 MLS cups, 4 US Open Cups, and the Concacaf Champions League with Freddy Adu as captain and he has been the MLS Player of the season 6 years in a row. Then I would get an Adu jersey! But you get my point?
I'm in the same boat, I have both a Califf and LeToux that I got for christmas. I've gotten fat The jerseys are 2" shorter then last year so they are a little too snug to wear so I'm working on getting to wear them. But when I'm not so fluffy I will still rock them
I can't see Bimbo canceling there contract after only two years. They still have two years left on the contract (plus an option for one more). If anything, its just that sales are down. Last year, we were a playoff team and Freddy Adu just joined the team, so that had to help sales. But now, we're playing for the wooden spoon, and the Adu fan boys (like myself) already have there Adu jersey. They probably anticipated sales to be just like last year. The Union and retailers ordered the jerseys when we still had Le Toux on the team, and all was calm. So they're just having a summer sale to try to get rid of the surplus they have. Anyways, on a more random note, the Rosses in Tucson all have the 2011 Away Long-Sleeve Authentic Jersey for sale in Small-XXL.
