Man, I huffed way too much glue in elementary school for you to use "draw" twice in the same sentence and expect me to realize that they have different meanings. I was all set with a post about how I expected Olsen to play for a nil-nil draw on the road.
I am going to tonight's game and according to the seat map on Ticketmaster, there aren't very many seats available. I hope this translates into a packed house. The WX should be great as well.
Not to burst your bubble... but I looked on ticketmaster for one of the first few games and saw similar limited availability, but the attendance was abysmal that day, as it has been for pretty much every game this year.
They do this for slow-selling concerts too, make it look like there is limited availabilty to drive full-price ticket sales. TicketBastard is never ever to be trusted. About anything.
It's also possible that ticketmaster is simply not buying as many tickets as they used to. As a result the availability is actually limited.
I'm pretty sure ticketbastard does not buy tickets to anything ever. Usually they have fairly exclusive selling rights, though United does retain several sections for themselves unlike many other TB venues.
And now they are offering half price tickets for the May 21 game. Somebody remind me, why did I buy season tickets?
Let me see -- two games where for a dollar more I could have had a $9 beer, another game where I could have gotten in for $5 and walked over and stood with the SGs, and now another where I could get in for half price. Sure dies convince me that I should renew my season tickets!
no, but you can save $20 when you open a Virginia529 tax avoidance plan The cups are pretty nice though, would have been better if they held a full beer, but I suppose coffee is okay in a pinch. Or really small beers.
Doesn't the VA plan only work if you either have kids or live in VA which I have neither? I'm sure I picked up the cup but I have no memory of what it looks like or where it is.
But when RFK sells out, then, then!, the rest of us will be the suckers. I, just, uh, don't hold your breath. One the one hand, I think they should definitely be doing something for the season ticket holders to make up for it, even if it something like giving you discounts of future season tickets, drink coupons, or RFK dollars usable only in the team store. I mean, they're in this for the money and die-hard fans are suckers to some extent. But to not even pay lip-service to the idea that the season ticket holders are the "real" fans and show some "generosity" to the team's most ardent supporters seems like a pretty shit PR move. On the other hand, I'm glad that they're at least bothering to experiment with new pricing and promotional deals. Maybe I'm forgetting some, but I feel like, in past years, they had college nights and some LivingSocial deal and then they ran out of ideas.
A more general complaint about the free stuff that comes with season tickets (and supporter group membership) is the lack of creativity from year to year. I've received a free t-shirt with every yeat of my SE membership, for example. And it's mostly a free scarf with the season tickets. How about a little variety- mix it up between scarves, hats, shorts, flags and whatever.
BBBulldog finally got through to them that the problem was the prices. On the other hand they took their revenge by not offering any discounts to the supporters groups.
Usually the SEs offer a choice, though not an outrageously adventurous one. This year was a polo, the last two or 3 were jerseys, or scarves. Maybe they just don't offer me the t-shirt
The cup you had to go to the Champions Club to pick up. Failing that there were some other sort of arrangements you could make.
