any news on new umbro boots? I was just looking on the umbro website, it hasn't been updated boots wise, shame really
This isn't boots - but I find it a bit sad that almost (if not every) team that had an Umbro shirt last season seems to have gone elsewhere for their shirts this season. Nike really are taking over Umbro. appleCORR
Nike actually sold Umbro, but they made sure to take over all their kits first. It is a shame. I always liked umbro kits and boots (minus the x boots era).
Uncanny timing eh? I said it before, but Umbro have been quiet because there's not been much to shout about. They did some great activity with the White-out Specialis at the end of the season, but anything they did past that would have just drawn attention to many licenses they've lost with players, clubs and - most importantly - the England team. New season's on the way, and now we're heading to the time of year when the rest of the country buys new boots (not just us year-round loons) Umbro have started the wheels turning again - hopefully they'll go back to keeping it consistent, again.
I actually twitted to umbro asking if any new boots will be released soon.. yet they never offically replied to me
I must say that Umbro officially replied to me a few times and also they are following me But yes, they are very quiet on the field, I have a feeling that I could do a better job, I don't know why...
They sponsor only players they 'like' it's like hummel of jerseys. They are pretty active in the Scandinavia where they sponsor multiple teams and players as well as in South America. They are the most popular in Ireland too sponsoring the national team and 5-6 clubs. I just hope that they will begin with some more activity, peace.
I had to stop washing up to reply to this - lol. You would have been thankful of some Umbro moulds tomorrow! appleCORR
By the looks of things, yes. either some speciallis's or some geo's I'm surprised not many people have got the geo's they have had some great reviews, and they don't look too bad, maybe an idea training boot at least
I am saving some money for Specialis 3 which are around 30e , there are a few geometras on sale for around 15-18e on some sites, I hope that I'll save some money until September and afford a new pair.
Blue ones are nice as well... I've read on a site (won't mention) that umbro will be releasing new colorways for geometra, speciali and gts for the start of the next season. I am following some umbro players on twitter and I hope they'll post some pics first.
Why are they insisting on making these plastic boots? - there is a real, place in the market at the moment for decent leather boots, you think Umbro would try and fill it instead of trying to compete with the larger boot complanies with a boot that actually doesn't look all that great. Are Umbro still sponsoring Wales & Northern Ireland? I'm guessing thats the only shirt deals they have left (if they still do!) Oh & David, I just noticed how you spelt Sandwich - Gahhh, why didn't i notice earlier!!! appleCORR
Northern Ireland is with adidas now. Wales still with umbro. They are also supplying Ireland for sure, as well as Canada, Norway, Peru(last year), and a few other 'weak' national teams.
auto correct. don't you think they look good? think they took smart, but the pricing is key, sell them at like say £80, and umbro make a decent boot could be onto a winner.. i like the teal colour way too
sandWHich auto correct?! thats it blame it on Apple! You can bet that those teams will be finding other companies to take over once the contract with Umbro is up. I'm not really a fan, it doesn't really help that the guy who is wearing them seems to have really wide feet - doesn't make they look great. I just think they look a bit cheap. appleCORR
