Picking up on what bonizzoni was alluding to, the majority of 'organised' ultra will be found in north Africa. In sub-Sahara, the supporters are far less organised; this may be down to the fact their own domestic leagues are less developed than the north African's and thus support for European - particularly English teams - is far more prevalent. Egyptians, Algerians, Moroccans and Tunisians on the other benefit from well organised leagues that continually produce successful national and continental sides. There are other social reasons as well; north African's have a more defined class structure and they are far more nationalistic than sub-Saharan counties so tend to support local leagues and institutions.
In Morocco the ultras compare themselves to the italian ones. Especially Wydad's and Raja's Ultras. Egypt - Algeria (trailer) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZOgyioZxFs"]YouTube- egypt vs algeria[/ame] Cairo- According to several sources, an Algerian supporter died after serious head injuries. He reportedly received a large stone on his head. The AFP correspondent, reported dozens of young Egyptians who have stopped buses to check the presence of Algerian before throwing stones abundantly. Young Egyptian supporters have trashed the buses carrying Algerian supporters in Cairo on Saturday night after a football match won 2-0 by Egypt against Algeria, according to an AFP journalist. Forty young Egyptians in total waited around the stadium the exit of the buses which would carry the Algerian fans back. They were forced to slow down with a security fence, and after verifying that the Algerians were well on board, they trashed four vehicles. ****** Algeria take on Egypt in what will be one hell of a bone shattering grudge match. The two countries do not get on and clearly the Egyptian support are keen on scaring their opposition into submission and hence throw large amounts of rocks at their team coach. Egypt have to beat the Group leaders by at least two goals to have any chance of making it to South Africa. Oh yes, its worth noting that during this attack four players were injured, now you would have thought that would be enough to punish the home team in some way but we would be surprised if FIFA act in anyway whatsoever, such is their ineptitude. 2010 African Qualifiers - goals & fans [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-eGSSjMJv0"]YouTube- 2010 African Qualifiers: Highlights DAY 5 - Oct 10-11[/ame]

I have a friend who is a huge Ahly fan in Egypt, so I have been interested to see how the Ahly Ultras were instrumental in the Egyptian Revolution. CNN Article
Thank you for posting this! I enjoyed it a lot. A friend of mine told me today that he knows all the Ahly players--he is a football recruiter. I told him I'll be in Egypt next February and I expect him to make introductions.
