    I didn't.

I bashed the idea that social media is a genuine unbiased and accurate source of news.

They are only the mainstream media in the USA. You talk as if the whole western world watches those channels.

I'm sure people in the UK, for example, could watch CBS or FOX News if they found some XXXXL bundled cabled package that included any old shit it could find, but ratings for those channels won't even show up in the statistics.

Nope, Ukrainians are fighting other Ukrainians. Unless, of course, you buy into the Nazi ethnicistic rhetoric (spread by significant sectors of the current puppet Ukrainian government) that only Ukrainian-speaking people qualify as 'true'Ukrainians (and even then, btw, your post wouldn't be accurate).

no, they're ukrainians for sure, they just swiped all the special forces' best gear: lightweight top-grade helmets, latest issue SF only kalashes and RPG's... typical nazi attitude.

my question is, how can Lavrov say that Russia will consider any assault on Russians in Ukraine as an assault on Russia itself, when according to Putin, there are no Russians in Ukraine?

The 'sarcasm' (pretty strong word...you might want to re-calibrate your irony-making abilities) was so lame it didn't really deserve attention.

I just wanted to make clear that what's going on in Eastern Ukraine is a civil war, not 'Russia vs. Ukraine'. Russia, just like the USA, is just giving help to one of the involved factions. To suggest otherwise is incredibly ignorant.

What factions? The "Russian special forces" faction of Ukraine? LOL

I think you've missed out on some of the sarcasm :p

first, I wasn't trying to be ironic. I believe that @ceezmad was.
as for the second part of your post, except that the US has not massed any troops on the western boarder of Ukraine, is not threatening to annex western Ukraine, has not sent in any paramilitary personnel to agitate and create disturbances so the US would have a pretext to invade, occupy, and annex Ukraine.
but yeah, otherwise the US is just like Russia in this situation. (hint, that's sarcasm)

    Now this is good sarcasm.

The US and EU-funded Nazis from Right Sector are doing all the dirty work and plenty of CIA officials (Brennan himself was in Kiev hours before the criminal military attack against Ukrainian freedom fighters - which, thank god, turned into a massive fiasco with Ukrainian forces promptly switching side and tanks getting seized by the anti-fascist guerrilla - was launched by the puppet government) and former Blackwater mercenaries are in Kiev, as acknowledged even by Ukrainian government members.

I understand the Reaganist John Rambo narrative is hard to get rid of but seriously, this isn't an 'evil Russia vs. everyone' situation...no matter how paranoid Russophobes try to spin it.

oh, I got you! the fact that the countries on Ukraine's western flank have joined a military alliance with the US is the same thing as Russia massing troops on Ukraine's eastern boarder - especially in light of many of Russia's threats and declarations regarding Ukraine. yeah, it's definitely the same thing.

    a) Yes, pretty much.
    b) This being said, I was mostly referring to permanent US army/air force bases in Romania, Poland and Bulgaria.

I will also add that having domestic troops amassed near war situations is pretty much common practice. When Yugoslavia was torn apart by nationalism Italy had plenty of military presence in Friuli and Apulia...and the government didn't want to get Istria or Kotor back.

You never know what rabid nationalistic lunatics such as Yulia Tymoshenko, who in a wire-tapped conversation stated that Russian people must all be exterminated, are up to.

holy crap dude, you're talking about Russophobia??
nobody, except Ukraine, is afraid of Russia. pretty much everyone understands what this is about - Russia trying to regain lost territory and its dominant role in global affairs. it's a pride thing (just look at the man behind it) for Russia. this can all be explained in 5 words: Putin has a small penis.

Wait, I'm from Chechnya? Why has no one told me?!?!?!

I'm a Jewish Chechnyan Nazi Ukranian nationalist? I must be the most interesting man in the world!

So......Crimea just stumbled over a border and fell over the Russian side? That's interesting.

Wait, if you are from Chechnya wouldn't that make you a Crypto-Fascist Muslim Jewish Ukranian nationalist? At least he didn't accuse you of being an Uzbek.
