Banners were unfurled near the West Ham training ground outside of Palermo exclaiming "welcome to the beautiful land of the mafia," and "We will win without the help of the mafia." These were a response to WH fans from the away tie who wore "Hammers vs. Mafia" t-shirts. Who will have the last laugh? Forza Palermo.

Assuming they do not take the owner's cue and concede.

Fontana made some key stops but otherwise Palermo dominated this game.

It was a real "mafia beating" so to speak.

Palermo played spectacularly. The passing was crisp, they were intense, they hustled to the ball and caused turnovers and the keeper made some awesome saves. It was a nice victory!

Nice to see some bright light from the Italian teams after the disapointment in champions leauge games yesterday and tuesday. Palermo played great.=, showed everyone what they are capable of when their "on" West Ham were one of the tougher teams Uefa cup and they controlled them.

On a side note, Palermo has the best website for all Serie A teams. The look and navigation are great. Tons of great info on the team as well.

When does Palermo find out which team they play next? I forgot how the UEFA cup works. Are the remaining teams put into another draw to determine who they play?
