Looking again at that Cech save on Messi's shot that hit the post ... man that was a great save. Reminds me of Julio Cesar's save on Messi in the CL SF game 2 years ago.

    Tip of the finger save.

All strikers miss chances, how many has Torres missed for 2 seasons, but it's obvious that having a fit Villa and Abidal would have been benefical for Barca, that seems pretty obvous to me. Anyway, this is gng nowhere so I'll move on.

hey mate, before you neg rep someone, you might want to make sure you're not doing it to the wrong guy, i.e. someone who merely quoted the asinine post you meant to target. thanks.

i'll state again that barcelona fans have otherwise been great today.

That was a bit premature! I could understand more after the red card.

Everyone knew Barcelona were going to score eventually.

I give pep credit because of what this team has achieved over the past 4 seasons

Cuenca did set up Busquets for the first one

Barca did break through and were 2-0 up, sometimes shit happens

its how you deal with that, thats what truly matters

mate, the big difference this season with 2009 is... Messi now scored 60+ goals instead of 38 but the other strikers this season only has like 10 goals now while in 2009 Henry and Etoo made 25-35 goals each and playing tiki taka very well near and inside the box. Sanchez, Tello and Cuence, these guys are still green and could only do the same thing over and over again.

Also Messi is not only tired, he dont even look fit. Constantly losing on body contact.

he also did terribly on the F torres one, I do realise its tough one on one, but he seemed to make it way to easy for Fernando to go round him

didnt help that Messi choked on the pk

Yes Messi hit side netting, hit the post late in the game and hit the post with his PK. Shit happen and you can be on the top all the times.

Lets win Copa del rey as consolation and beat Madrid in Super cup

The moment Messi choked on the penalty, I somehow knew it was all downhill from there.

nope he isnt, the finishing is

if we had scored they would have to come out and play, and we would not have had only 2 or 3 players defending, instead it would have been a more "normal" match

but it really will fall on Messi, who has pretty much just handed CR7 the next fifa world player of the year title

yeah Valdes had 0 responsabliity in that last goal. It was physically impossible to catch that ball considering Torres went to the side with his momentum.

That's what I'm saying. This isn't the end of squat. We only needed to score one of those Messi frame rattlers and we'd have been through.

catalan version of Ibra? (without the attitude)

then again he will probably have a better 2nd season plus he seems to be here for the long haul, i just dont see him as Xavi's eventual replacement

yep, replace Abi and find a fast CB, and we are back in business

a CF would be nice, but we would get Villa back

its all good people, just a setback

Madrid hasnt win the semi yet, let alone the final
and Euro tournament will has big impact on best player of the year.

As much as I hate it, Ronaldo deserve some major achievement too, he's 27, at his peak and really shows the hunger... Messi is still 24 after all these years and already won 3 CL and 3 CL golden boots plus 2 club world cups.

the thing is that if Messi dosnt win it, then chances are CR7 will, he has la liga and could add the CL plus he has the Euro's to show off in

unless of course Mario Gomez has a monster euro's;)

Ronaldo has had several WCs and Euros to show off in and didn't do much. Messi is still the best. But titles matter, so we will see. Van Persie also has been great, if he does well in Euros than he should get a look too.

Well, I'm not counting on Portugal performance in Euro, they dont have good history in that tournament and being in same group with Holland and German doesnt help. Ronaldo in Portugal is like Messi in Argentina... average scoring ratio. Even if they're through there are team like Spain and France lurking.

One thing though, if Bayern through, Mario Gomez has a chance to takes over Messi CL golden boots but if he scored just twice Messi will still get the CL golden boots (shared). If Madrid outplayed Bayern today then the CL golden boots is Messi again cause Ronaldo needs more than 2 hattrick to surpass Messi.

Win Copa del rey then beat Madrid in Super cup in pre season. The first half of next season will also played part and also World cup qualifier.

As much as I hate your team...you guys played two great games, luck just wasn't on your side today. By the way, I'm sorry for the trolling that went on in your match thread...especially after such a huge loss. Who knows, we might be in your position tomorrow evening and I sure as hell wouldn't appreciate the trolling. Hopefully we're not, but you never know with football.

    Anyways, great game.

    Good night:D
