Ah, I'm slow on the uptake. But Pedro scores when it matters in cup matches, A Rod puts up stats in meaningless games and folds in the playoffs.

Need Celtic to not win in Lisbon.
But ask any Celtic fan and they'll tell you that winning in Lisbon is their specialty. :D

Will this be our first clean sheet of the season? I'm kidding but its been ages since I've seen a ZERO in the scoring column for our opponent.

A win, a clean sheet, and no injuries, I'd say that's a great night for the team. Nice to know qualification is wrapped up even if it took until matchday 5. I want to see mostly subs and bench players in the game against Benfica.

It's granulated rubber. It makes the field softer. It is better than Astroturf. Feels closer to grass.

First clean sheet of the month, for sure.

Last one was in the cup against Alaves.

PS my favorite A-Rod nickname is "Mr. May". :p

No yellow for Song, but one for Mascherano who now has two for the tournament.
So Song, Masch and Pedro will go into MD6 carrying two yellows.

Two goals and an assist for Messi.
No wonder. Look at the huge gap the Spartak defence allowed. Messi will exploit that eight days a week.

No yellow for Song but I think that's OK as UEFA has been cracking down a bit on that sort of convenient/cynical getting of yellows late in in Matches 4 or 5 by clubs that have assured their passage to elimination round. Plus Song ought to start Match 6 so he'll have plenty of time to get one all on his own then and miss the first leg of our sweet sixteen encounter.

Really hope Benifica can get a point or more today so we can start something like this in Match 6:

    Pinto (with Oier on bench)
Montoya-Song-Masch-Grimaldo (Adriano sub in if ready to get some PT)
    Sergi R-JDS-Rafinha (Espinosa sub in)
Tello-Dongou-Deulofeu (Messi could start if he wanted the Gerd record but hopefully he rests)

Good one, they cannot give him that much space! I think Pedro got the only assist tonight as Messi scored his first off a keeper rebound, and Alves scored the first off a deflected pass from Messi. Not sure if the deflection erases the assist but the stats sheet I looked at only credited Pedro with an assist.

Ah, uefa.com gave Iniesta an assist in the stats section as the game was in progress.
Now that the game is over I'm sure uefa will go over everything and award the assists more properly.

Yeah, Pinto is pretty good, but not as competent with the ball at his feet. I feel there'd be a big concern if VV was ever not actually available, just like there is often concern about why we don't start VV in those CdR finals.

But I suppose until you were able to field Barca's squad with a supposedly better keeper in front (Buffon, Casillas, Neur, Hart, Cech) the haters will be able to keep on hating as they'll just blame Barca for not getting one of aforementioned keepers. Not realizing that many of those folks could not deal with playing sweeper, with passing rather than booming the ball away, with one-on-one stoppages of breakaways, as well as VV so often does.

That's the detail that makes it. Puyi warming his hands on his massive, fusion-reactor huevos.

lol Yeah, it wasn't that cold in Moscow tonight. Several players were wearing short-sleeves. There will be matches in Spain under similar conditions later in the season. That's why Puyol probably just thought "ok, you guys are laying it on a bit thick with the (Spanish) act." :)

The Barcelona boys can contribute to my dad's birthday by winning both cups and at leatst Messi scored 2 more
