this is working and English http://atdhenet.tv/55273/watch-spartak-moscow-vs-barcelona and Messi gets his brace with a perfect through pass from Pedro making up for Pedro's yellow for diving
I think he was on 54 going into today's game and now has 56; Raul's record stands at 71 so probably have to wait till he is 26 (next year).
uefa.com is crediting Messi with an assist on the first goal. Could change post match as in the past they've changed things like goals/own goals after video reviews, but for now give it to him.
It is artificial turf, the bits you see could perhaps be there to make the field slide better than regular astro turf and more like a har-tru tennis court (pseudo-clay court with sand on astro turf essentially) so it is more forgiving. I've played soccer on astro turf (Cal intramurals and even the Pontiac Silverdome as a kid) and it sucks when you go down on the ground so maybe this is an improvement on that old problem.
Hasn't really affected our play, except when Masch's knee hit the ground hard and he had to come off for a sec.
Oh. Artificial it is, then. Suits Barca's style well. May the future Qatar Airways Camp Nou have artificial grass.
I don't know what that stuff is but I think they've started putting it on regular grass fields in the NFL as well. Every so often you see it rise up when a player gets especially pummeled into the ground. Pontiac Silverdome? Isn't that where Hulk Hogan beat Andre the Giant in front of 100k people?
First half summary: Спартак 0-3 Фк Барсело́на Goals by Месси (2) and Алвес. Месси, Педро and Иньеста with the assists. Вальдес hasn't had much to do in goal. And the yellow for Педро is his second of the tournament. (Сонг is also on two bookings though he's not on the pitch)
Yeah, that was Wrestlemania III in 1987, I'd already left the State of Michigan for college, but around that same time I caught the then largest attended NBA game while home on winter break - when the Showtime Lakers with Magic played the Bad Boys with Zeke, Worm, Spider, Buddha, Microwave, etc. My travel squad of 12 year olds played at the Silverdome before a Detroit Express game in the old NASL. The Express featured Trevor Francis from Birmingham City, what's weird is that after 3 years in America he went back to feature in some big clubs in England and Italy.
Vinnie Johnson was one of my favorite players when I was a kid. Just came off the bench and went nuts for a few minutes, then sat back down. We could use someone like that at Barca.
