GuJo reminds me of Dana Carvey's Regis Philbin impersonation, with all the random yelling and over-enthusiasm.

Yup. Pre-conference yapfest on FS1. Jose Mourinho presser on Deportes. There's a Spanish-speaking host translating, but it's all good.

Plus...Deportes SAP is GuJo free anyway.

Edit: 2:46 and no English SAP. :(
Edit edit... English kicked in about 2:48.

Just switched the channel from the NBA Press Conference and was warmly greeted by GuJo on commentary as soon as I tuned into FoxSports! :ROFLMAO:

    * GuJo will be the official voice of the Champions league Final! :p

I'm guessing you don't get FOX Deportes? If you don't, see if your provider can offer it to you on a trial period during a time when the final is being held.

But if I did that then I would be depriving myself of the Wynalda/GuJo experience! :)

GuJo has deservedly gotten a lot of flack --but he stepped it up for the Champions League final yesterday. Honestly I feel that was his best job so far broadcasting soccer. Kudos to Wynalda and GuJo yesterday. No nonsensical ,silly comments, no distractions, and no on air gaffes.

I loved it when he called offsides when it was a spot foul. In order for it to be offsides that one guy running up and down the touch line with the flag needs to raise it. He doesn't even get the most basic things. Such unmitigated disrespect to our sport.

I'd love to see this happen for the world series, superbowl, or Stanley cup finals and see the reaction.

I agree. No way this nonsense occurs in other sports Finals.
The decision makers at Fox are complete aholes and enlightenment is needed soon.
I pray that Fox watches the Espn commentary over the next few weeks so that they awaken from its mindless thought process.
    Enough of Gujo and Wynalda.
Leave the games to the professionals. Martin Tyler is available.

NFL has tried weird things over the years. Maybe not for Finals specifically but for seasons which Johnson did start doing BTW. (It is not like he was just brought into the Final)

There was a match without any audio. There was Comedian Dennis Miller doing color for Monday Night Football.
There Was political commentator Rush Limbaugh as an ESPN in studio analyst.
So it is not as crazy as it seems to have a play -by-play guy who is making millions of dollars in other sports do soccer.

No, it is crazy. All those other examples didn't involve the biggest sporting event on the planet.

To keep it more American centric: No way NBC has Doc Emrick calling a Super Bowl telecast. And, unlike GuJo, he's actually great at what he does.

If Doc Emrick were making the cash Johnson was in various sports and eased in by doing local college football games on the radio for a season or two and then eased in to some regular season and NFL Playoff games before the Super Bowl I don't think it would be that bad. He is a professional.
