Don't forget that we will have new players in January (I hope) that can be registered to play and strengthen the squad.
Solid performance overall. Got the goal then played pretty smartly the remainder of the game, until the last 10 seconds of course. Well done.
I won't say it was comfortable...but fuck it we won the group by the skin of our teeth. Hard to ask for more from a team and manager in his first season. Nervy match. Too many pins and needles to make a decent analysis. Glad to be through to knockout rounds. Winning the group was unexpected bonus. Young Boys must feel hard done by.
Same country too, can't happen until the R16. As of right now: Seeded: Liverpool, Viktoria Plzen, Fenerbahce, Bordeaux, Steaua Bucuresti, Dnipro, Kazan, Lyon, Kharkiv, Hannover, Chelsea, CFR Cluj, Olympiacos, Benfica Unseeded: Anzhi, The Best Madrid Team, Monchengladbach, Newcastle, Stuttgart, Napoli, Inter, Prague, Leverkusen, Levante, Zenit, Bate, Dynamo Kiev, Ajax The unseeded group is WAY stronger. Tottenham and Basel will likely join the unseeded group while the seeded group should get Lazio and Genk.
I thought the midfield looked tired and sloppy the last twenty minutes. I was disappointed not to see Rodgers use a sub or two in there, aside from Sterling for Suso - which was a good move. Glad to see us hold on for the shutout.
I know. I was joking that uefa would change something so that we would draw them like we always did in the CL. I'm sure we'll get inter or Bilbao.
Bilbao's out. 3rd place I'm most worried about Best Madrid. Best Madrid with Falcao would ruin us. God I hope we don't get Best Madrid, Best Madrid is just such a good team and Best Madrid is showing that in La Liga as Best Madrid is ahead of Real Madrid. Real Madrid wishes they were as good as Best Madrid. Best Madrid just play better as a team and Best Madrid are so fun to watch. Real Madrid are full of divas and locker room issues, and aren't a true team like Best Madrid. #troll
Sorry, I meant the atletico Madrid. You're right, the unseeded are a lot stronger group. Oh well, the stronger the opponent, the better the expirience for our europa youngsters.
I'd like to see them play a Bundesliga side - great crowd atmosphere home and away. Plus, the travel won't be too long.
Another one of our famous one goal wins complete with heart attack at the end. I for one will be happy when we get someone to put the ball into the net. Suso, after a beautiful set up gets a rush of blood and slices high and wide. You don't get extra points for speed of shot, you do get a goal for placement. Suso get pulled for Sterling who turns into a non-entity for 25 minutes. Poor Luis is going to have sore ankles after that, That arsehole deserved that red for constant ankle hacking. De Natale, what can you say, the little chubby bugger exudes confidence doesn't he. It's like he knows he's just going to score...and nearly does. I believe we won our group and from now on regardless who we meet we have to beat them. No sweat!!! Good match for me, had to walk into town in 88 degree temp with a black shirt. Worth it though my money was no good in the local bar. Fun time. Some guy didn't have a Liverpool shirt so he wore his John Lennon one for me. Trouble was it had NYC on it. In memory of the guy that killed him no doubt. I'll take that one nil win, but we'd better find someone to finish some of those chances and give Suaraz room so he can get more.
Definitely, don't think we can avoid them with all of them going through but at least it'll make for two good matches. My expectations are realistic though, I don't expect us to make a deep run.
Same, I'm happy we got out of the group, and I'd like to maybe see us get to the R16, but anything after that is a bonus.
Well until proven otherwise I am planning on us winning the Cup. See I am both patient and optimistic. I only was able to watch the first half. I thought Henderson had a very good first half and that Suso had a lot of good moments combined with some shaky ones. I think Luis will kill teams when ever we finally get someone to make dangerous movements around him. Allen seems tired. But a victory is a victory. Bring on the Hammers
