U20 pre-Dallas Cup training camp

Ives found a Brazilian article that seems to indicate that "Lipe" of Cruzeiro will be called into the U20 squad for both the Dallas Cup and a training camp before the tournament itself.

Anybody heard more about the timing or location or this camp? It would make sense, I suppose, to have a relatively large camp and push players to think of it as a competitive tryout for the tournament.

The Dallas Cup runs April 13-20. The Super Group is called a U19 event.

US Soccer has already named a few other likely Cup participants, though I suppose it's possible they might not do both the camp and the tournament:

Players expected to participate in this year’s edition include FC Dallas homegrown product Kellyn Acosta, who was a member of the USA’s 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup team; Chivas USA midfielder Marco Delgado; and Lorient FC midfielder Romain Gall.
Last cycle's schedule doesn't tell us much about how this camp might work. They didn't play in the Dallas Cup -- early cycle camps were in Jan., Feb., April and June.

Cross-posted from the player pool thread -- here's an article that says Tigres' Jesus Vasquez will be called in by Ramos in April:

Just recently, Jesus received a “huge opportunity”: an invite to try out for the U.S. National U-20 team in April. If Jesus makes that team, he would be competing in the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015.

Presumably that means the Dallas Cup team. Wonder if we'll see a few more Mexico-based players called in for that tournament.

The roster for the April U18 camp is here:

U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team head coach Javier Perez has called 24 players for a 10-day training camp at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif., from April 4-13.

    http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2014/04/01/16/08/140401-u18mnt-ntc-training-camp

Of course, players could do double-duty though I'd be mildly surprised. That probably means no Dallas Cup for Redding, who is on the U18 roster, though EPB (as noted above) is not.

Didn't know where to ask this but will the IMG Academy U18 have notable USYNTs or no?

Just to show the types of players you can see at this tournament. This was LAST YEAR's Dallas Cup:

And ManU didn't even make the playoffs of the event!

No. But it seems to be a 16 year old with a mustache..................!!!

It should be noted that the Dallas Cup twitter feed is one of the most enjoyable out there. Whoever does that spends a lot of time keeping up with the career exploits of former Dallas Cup players. It's really good.

It's one of those "I saw that player when he was a kid!!" kind of events. Two years ago it was Ross Barkley when Everton came.

Perhaps @pwip knows who's responsible. (Or maybe it's pwip?)

Junior Flores will not be at US camp for the Dallas Cup. He is staying in Germany to tie up some loose ends w/ BVB. #USMNT #usynt

But, see, part of our diabolical plan is to put Hugo Perez in charge of El Salvador largely to ensure he never calls up Junior Flores.

    It's pretty logical, really.

Not exactly surprising, but still news (esp. on MM):

    Brian Sciaretta ‏@BrianSciaretta 23h
I'm also hearing Eric Palmer-Brown (#skc) & Matt Miazga (#nyrb) are on the US U20s for the Dallas Cup. Could be starting CB pair at 2015 WC

Miazga has more minutes than Lade so far this year...
