Want to be excited, but stop me if you've heard this before: USA runs out to lopsided win to open a tournament....
For people disinclined to click on links: "The U.S. started strong, with Ahinga Selemani opening the scoring in the 23rd minute. Tyler Turner added a second goal in the 50th minute, along with Wesley Wade in the 71st minute. Bradford Jamieson wrapped up the game in the fourth minute of stoppage time with the fourth and final goal for the U.S. "
When I was down there I noticed Wesley Wade plays with a lot of flair - big bag of tricks. Turner is a big, athletic center back. I wonder if his goal maybe came on a corner.
UAE 0 - Portugal 2 at the half. Portugal just scored a nice goal to make it 3-0 with about 5 min. remaining in the game.
This current group played UAE to a 1-1 Draw when they were on there first international trip under WC. I think it was there Spain trip.
Coolest name so far: Ahinga Selemani give or take a letter US Soccer Development Academy must list his grade point average on their public site! 3.52/4.0, better than a Wonderlic ...
well granted, both our team and UAEs are probably completely different this time around (and remember, we tied cuba in 2009 olympic qualifying and beat them 6-0 in olympic qualifying this time around and we all saw where that went), so let's see how we play throughout the tournament before we start to consider if this group is any better
Ummm... Donovan isn't on the trip. Wade didn't start last time, despite your claims. Looking for reliable info...
