According to fansoccer.de, Sarah Glass and Alexis Hernandez (Miami Kickers), Keli McLaughlin (Indiana) and Rosie Malone-Povolny (Milwaukee) to Iceland.
Leigh Jakes (formerly of Northwestern Univ & Chicago Red Stars) heads to Falköping KIK in the Swedish div 1.
Ali Krieger for FFC Frankfurt, none of the Swedish clubs with americans qualfied. Don't lnow about the other teams.
So i'm trying to figure this out. I looked at the EU Champions League website: http://www.uefa.com/womenschampionsleague/index.html and it looks like 22 teams have pre-qualified and there is another qualifier round where 32 other teams in 8 sections duke it out this week to be also included in the late September and early October rounds. If the winners of the 8 sections advance to the playoffs, and join the 22 teams listed, who are the other 2 teams to bring the total to 32 teams for the Sept/Oct games? I'm sure some of you understand this, but as a newbie paying attention to the international games, I wanted to figure it out. What's the real story, and what am I missing?
Two best runners-up. Decided among the 8 runners-up by: a) higher number of points obtained in these matches; b) superior goal difference from these matches; c) higher number of goals scored in these matches; d) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons e) fair play conduct of the teams in all group matches in the qualifying round; f) drawing of lots.
In addition to Krieger from Frankfort, four U.S. Players from Iceland will be playing in the UFEA Champions competition. Manya Makoski, Thor-KA Megan McCray, Valur Caitlan Miskel, Valur Marisha Schumacher-Hodge, Thor-KA
Looks like more players are going abroad for the fall/winter seasons. Alyssa Naeher - WPS Boston to Turbine Potsdam - Germany Karen Bardsley - WPS SkyBlue FC to Sweden Rumors around about other players too, I'm predicting Kelly O'hara goes to Sweden too, as Tony wants to get more of his players getting game time in the off-season. Since today is the last day of the trading window, there should be lots of other announcements.
