Had to think what university this was. University of the Pacific...Hmmm. Got set in my ways.... I knew of a Christian school, Azusa Pacific, whose athletic teams we the Cougars. I guess that Cougars would rather be Tigers and prowl more broadly than Azusa?
Just to expand your limited knowledge there are 8 'Pacific' schools: U. of Pacific a D-1 school in Stockton CA which is in the West Coast Conference Azusa Pacific a D-2 school in Azusa CA Fresno Pacific a D-2 school in Fresno CA Hawaii Pacific a D-2 school in Honolulu HI Seattle Pacific a D-2 school in Seattle WA Warner Pacific a NAIA school in Portland OR Pacific Lutheran a D-3 school in Tacoma WA Pacific University a D-3 school in Forest Grove OR
You forgot: Pacific University - Forest Grove OR. D-3 "Boxers" Pacific Lutheran University -Tacoma WA D-3 "Lutes" There are a couple more, like Life Pacific in Covina, CA and Pacific Union in Angwin CA, but they don't offer womens soccer.
Whoa! TMI as the young kids say. I never knew. In Tacoma are all the Lutherans pacificsts? In Covina do they just zone out about life over at the university? Is their specialty at Angwin marriage counseling? Do they peacefully bob their tails in Forest Grove?
The "boxer" was actually a Chinese Dragon Dog an alum presented to the students around the time of the Boxer Rebellion. A tradition was for the classes to steal it from each other. It disappeared in the 60's and may have finally been found. http://www.pacificu.edu/magazine_archives/2008/spring/boxer/
Kicking myself for omittingAlaska Pacific University... Outdoor studies is a major. Ice and rock climbing, wilderness travel, canoeing and white water rafting, wilderness camping. It would have saved me 20 years of learning how yo do that stuff.
