I'm not sure if any of you have come across this recently launched show, but Turkish Football Weekly just started on worldsoccerreader.com. It's the first English-language Turkish show that I know of and is hosted by Kevin McCauley, Ata Dizdar(WSR's turkish correspondent) and Bura Demirbag(World Football Daily and World Football Phone-In). Hi to all, I'm Bura and along with Ata Dizdar, we record the Turkish Football Weekly podcast. TFW is the only English language podcast dedicated to the game in Turkey. This upcoming week we will examine the chances of Turkey gaining the title as host for EURO 2016. We will have interviews with knowledgable people from Turkey as well as Andy Brassell (European football correspondent for numerous shows including the BBC's World Football Phone-In). We've had 15 shows or so thus far and we have a lot of good things lined up. For example, Ata will have a press pass to the US-Turkey game later on in the summer and therefore will have a lot of access to Turkish national team players/coaches/managers. As for the new season, I will be in Turkey lining up a string of interviews with teams preparing for the new season. I will also have press passes for the Turkey-Romania friendly in August as well as the Turkey-Belgium EURO 2016 qualifier in September. In addition to all of this should a Turkish team be drawn with an English team in European competitions (likely to happen) I will again have behind the scenes info/access. We're putting a lot of effort into the only English language podcast based on Turkish football. We're not doing this for any financial gain as the podcast is free. It would be great if you joined in and listened to the show as you won't get this kind of content in English anywhere else in the world.
