Ironic that Landy is well versed in the other sports when conversing and Dan Patrick is ignorant of soccer when he's supposed to be a sports expert and makes no bones about it.

Not really. Baby boomer generation is clueless and proud.

Every day a baby boomer dies one of this countries biggest soccer haters dies with it.

The fact that a guy like Patrick is even forced to have LD on and deal with him about soccer at all is funny to watch...knowing how much it must pain him.

Republic FC takes aim at USL Pro attendance records

Fans might not fill all of Hughes’ 20,311 seats for Saturday’s match against Harrisburg (Pa.) City Islanders, but the team will break the league’s regular-season record, based on the number of tickets already sold, according to team officials, who expect between 15,000 and 20,000 fans to attend. Orlando (Fla.) City SC holds the record of 10,697 at the Florida Citrus Bowl on Aug. 11, 2013.

I've been saying it for a long time. Orlando was the first expansion darling among MLS fans. Sacramento will be the next one.

I don't know about this. Patrick has had Landon on several times and they seem to be friends.

I think Patrick knows a lot more than he lets on; The beginner questions are for his audience which may be more ignorant. One of the guys in his booth is a huge Liverpool guy, I think and they bring it up all the time.

Nothing wrong with that. It's how it should be; it is expected of others to know everything about "American' sports, while at the same time for us to know nothing about them foreign commie sports.
The world should idolize us, not the other way around.

Yeah, that seems to be true.
I remember last time Landon was on his show (about a year ago I think) they both came to an agreement that if Landon was going to answer a question that Dan asked him, right at that moment on the air, Patrick was gonna book a ticket to Brazil for the WC.
Sorry, don't remember what the question was.

I like Dan Patrick and his show. I don't get the impression that he is one of those anti soccer people. Not at all.

I mean, he has a longstanding beef with ESPN, freaking love it when he talks trash about them.

Now Oberman, I hate that guy. With a passion.

    Drought mainly ...

It really kills me that on Saturday night, just by chance, I'll be about 20 miles from Hughes Stadium, but there's just no possible way for me to get away to go the home opener.

We don't appreciate being stereotyped. Or killed off for the good of the game.

It's open for debate how much he actually is into soccer and how much his public persona allows him to be. Suffice it to say that he is a soccer inclusivist and if his fans have an interest he will steer the show that way. Considering how many other pundits have burned bridges with a sport that is showing every sign of becoming mainstream I think that he will have a longer career than others.

You got two out of four ... (I'll let you guess which) :)

Seriously, I don't know. Our generation has a lot of fans of the game. Soccer moms and dads, blah, blah, those immigrants you reference. It's always the new faces that get the appreciation, though, never the wily vets.
