Omg wtf!!!!! I read the transfer thread with habemus gotze... "We have our gotze", I thought it was a joke until I read through the threads... What on gods name...
The probability of Robben leaving increases a bit but I'd like him to stay. He still has a lot to give and on a good day he can be a game changer. I don't see him as a starter though with our packed midfield, unless we change to false 9 and don't buy Lewa
What makes this transfer plausible in retrospective are some quotes of the BVB officials during the last weeks and months. 1. Over the last two years we coped with losing pillars of the team and we will do so again. Everybody thought they were talking about Lewandowski. So maybe they were talking about Mario Götze back then? 2. When Bayern's squad for the next season will be announced we'll realize that Uli Hoeneß was wrong with his Spanish relations. I rather fear Scottish relations. Hinting towards a Götze exit and not Lewandowski! Well we'll see.
Is anyone really surprised by this? Gotze is the biggest young German talent coming through, and he will probably be the face of German football in a couple of years. And wasn't he born in Bavaria anyway? Or is that negligible? With interest heating up from other clubs, no way Bayern is going to stand idle and not at least try to get him. I guess the only thing that can be considered surprising is the timing itself. I thought he would stay in Dortmund for at least another year. Might as well be the Bayern kit now.
Having read the reports about Pep supposedly not being a Robben fan and now seeing we may buy Götze, I think we might see Arjen leaving this summer.
I don't think Götze would play on the wing so Kroos would be the one facing increased competition imo. And dude, aren't you half Polish? Lewy is the correct male abbreviation of Lewandowski. You would call Mrs Lewandowski "Lewa".
Thanks for clearing that up for me because I never got the Lewy thing. Sounded like a pet name so it kinda freaked me out.
well if Gotze comes we will have Ribery,Kroos,Muller,Gotze,Shaqiri and Robben 6 guys for 3 positions. Sammer said Alaba's and Kroos's extensions are a priority so i think Robben will be sold Unless Pep start playing Kroos as a CM next to Schweini or sometimes rotating with Schweini
Unless of course Guardiola decides to pull Martínez into central defense and play with Kroos alongside Schweinsteiger. Just like the old van Gaal plan always looked like.
Honestly, I think this could make it more likely that Gomez sticks around for at least another year. Regarding the midfield options, it makes a lot more sense if you think about the versatility of players and the fluidity of systems; also hopefully we'll rotate a little more than in the past, although I can't complain about how Heynckes has handled the end of the season. Anyway, we can see Kroos operating more withdrawn, Gotze on the wing, Muller or Gotze up top, etc etc. If I had to guess I'd say that Muller will be the odd man out and first off the bench kind of like last year, and that's not the worst thing in the world IMO. He can play multiple positions and offers something different for big games, kind of like a really really really good version of what Ji Sung Park was for Manchester United. Edit: Or that!
The Rode transfer makes more sense with Götze in the picture, too. We don't need another quality CM to replace Schweinsteiger in case of injury if Kroos drops back into central midfield.
What are the odds of Pep switching to Javi to CB? Maybe we could see a Schweini - Kroos - Gotze midfield Indeed Also Lewy means left which could be a reference to his political views
